Oh crap, YES! How could I have forgotten. I'm gonna go edit my post...that song is amazing. I'm not really much of a bluegrass fan, but that song (and that soundtrack) blows my mind. The Coen Brothers are the best, man...save for M. Night.

The first time I saw O Brother, I was a little confused with the music, but it fit in with the time. After I saw it again and again, and then bought it I love the music and the movie so much. Who hasn't seen this movie or heard the soundtrack to it?

I have too many to list. Heres a couple:

Rabbit in your Headlights by Thom Yorke and DJ Shadow
Life in a Glass House by Radiohead
Motion Picture Soundtrack by Radiohead
Adrenaline by the Roots
You Got Me by the Roots
The Next Movement by the Roots
Wrong ***** to F--k With by Ice Cube
I Want you To want Me by Cheap Trick (I hate them, but that song is great)
Temptation by New Order
Regret by New Order
Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order
Long and Dark (Dark Train Mix) by Underworld
Heaven Scent by John Digweed
Astounded by Bran Van 3000 and Curtis Mayfield
Feelin' So Real by Moby
Why Does My heart Feel so bad? by Moby
Lonely Teardrops by Jackie Wilson
Didn't I blow Your mind this time by the Delfonics
Lady of Dreams/The Last One Alive by VAST
Thirty Three by Smashing Pumpkins
Tonight Tonight by Smashing Pumpkins
Joise by Blink 182
Blue Flowers by Dr. Octagon/Kool Keith
Thunder Road by Bruce Springsteen
Bombs Over Baghdad by Outkast (The best hip hop song ever made)

There are many, many, MANY more.

Chalk System of a Down's Chop Suey up on my list. Damn thats a good song.

Boy Hits Car- I am a Cloud and As I watch the Sun **** the Ocean are both very good songs.

OH! Don't know how I left it off my list before, but Dream Theater- Home. In my opinion it is the BEST song ever made. It's not my all-time favorite, but I do think it is the BEST ever made.

I'd like to add The Private Psychedelic Reel by the Chemical Brothers to my list.

Wheres PLite's favorites, and sadesdrks, and revdillanes, and thmilin's? I don't know what music girls like these days.

Yea, I'm surprised not as many people have shown an intreset in the music threads here. I love music. Maybe even more than movies.

I'm also going to add "Stranger in Moscow" by none other than Michael Jackson. Great song...shame the chorus isn't nearly as good as the few opening lines. Wow, it gives me chills. MJ's "This Time Around" is great, too. It's sick how many of his songs are good.

LOL! I just read OG's original list and I can't stop laughing! My face is red from laughing so much! All I can say is, what the??? Where's my Kazaa? Lol!!

I don't know whether I should be flattered, or insulted?!?

I love all those songs.

I'd edit my list to extend from Mindless Self Indulgence- Kill The Rock to every one of their songs, especially Kill the Rock and Bring the Pain.

I was just thinking about this and wanted to post some of my favorite songs and ended up finding this thread, so I'll post them here... But I think I'm going to actually put videos of them up as well...

Otis Redding- "I've Been Loving You (Too Long)"

("Satisfaction" is on here too.)

Bob Dylan- "House of the Rising Sun"

Jimi Hendrix- "Hey Joe"

Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald- "Summertime"

The Rolling Stones- "Midnight Rambler"

(Try to skip the crap at the beginning...)

Cat Stevens- "Tea for the Tillerman"

Screamin' Jay Hawkins- "I Put a Spell on You"
&feature=related

Creedence Clearwater Revival- "I Put a Spell on You"
&feature=related

The Alan Price Set- "I Put a Spell on You"
&feature=related

Nina Simone- "I Put a Spell on You"

(It was just too hard to pick which version. And I would have put the live Eels version up too if I'd found it... And now this post is getting REALLY long...)

The Beatles- "I'm So Tired"

The Beatles- "A Day in the Life"

(There are way to many to choose from, so I'll just stop at these two because I don't want to think about it anymore.)

Radiohead- "Life in a Glass House"

Andrew Bird- "Anonanimal"

Eels- "I'm Going to Stop Pretending That I Didn't Break Your Heart"

(This is getting a lot less concise than I'd have liked... So I guess I'll just stop... Right after...)

Monty Python- "The Lumberjack Song"

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
Yowza! Too bad I can't give you +10 rep all by myself. I'm glad they put that version of "Summertime" back up. I guess everybody will be entertained the rest of the night now. "Your Daddy's rich and your Mama's good lookin'". HA!

You notice how Alan Price sneaks the melody of "House of the Rising Sun" into "I Put a Spell on You"? He's usually considered responsible for the modern day arrangement, even if it seems to be stolen from Dylan. Tricky Basterd.

Sarah, you want me to rent O Lucky Man! for Labor Day?

Yeah, I didn't mean for it to be so long... That's just how it ended up, you know, with my being so indecisive... But I think I did notice a trend in the types of songs I was picking... Oh, and I totally forgot Johnny Cash, I feel really stupid, so I'm putting up

Johnny Cash- "Flushed from the Bathroom of Your Heart"

as well. Even though I could put up a whole bunch of other stuff too, I just know no one's going to actually watch/listen to all of these anyway...
