Clang Clang Clang went the trolley!

My life isn't written very well.
Watched Evita on TV the other, and as much as I thought I'd hate it, well wasn't all that bad---for a musical!

I agree with susan. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers has always been a favorite of mine and always will be. I think it's #3 on my list.

As far as the Rogers and Hammerstein musicals, I liked The Sound of Music and Oklahoma! better than South Pacific.

Oh that reminds me....has anyone seen R&H's version of Cinderella (1965)? I can remember seeing it as a little girl (even before Disney's version) and Lesley Ann Warren was always my vision of how Cinderella looked. She was so sweet and beautiful. I wanted that dress.

There was also a movie called 'The Ritz' I saw many years ago.

Oh good! Thanks Susan...I'm glad to hear someone else has seen and liked R&H's Cinderella.

The Princess and the Pea with Carol Burnett....I loved that! I've seen some of the others on video/dvd...but not this one. I remember this this on TV and laughing at Carol Burnett climbing up all of those matresses.

In the Good Old Summertime. I think this is one of her movies that doesn't get as much recognition as the others. I've always liked it.

Thanks susan.

thanks annie...they only showed the princess and the pea once on tv so many years ago....i've never seen it again since... but i never forgot it...glad someone else remembers it..

r&h's cinderella has been out on dvd for a while now...i picked up a copy after finally taping it from tv...

The best musical ever made, IMHO. I've seen it on broadway and both theatrical adaptions. I'm not a big fan of the genre, but this one has always done it for me
