If "The Fate of the Furious" is original name of the movie, What was Fast 8? Why did they made posters of movie with the name "Fast 8"?

They likely just hadn't completely decided on the title yet and Fast 8 was the placeholder.

The Fast movies have been changing up their titles for a long time now. Fast Five and then Furious 6, which was the title it had during the opening credits in the actual movie, while it was mainly promoted with simply Fast & Furious 6. Then there was Furious 7, which was actually the promoted name this time around, while the actual credited name in the opening credits was Fast & Furious 7... So yeah, it's pretty confusing.
But I think the new name is awesome. Obviously Fast 8 is also F8 in short, and that sounds like 'Fate' when you say it. Then there is the obvious connection to the story and how the fate of our furious friends has come to a peaking point here... oh, and then there is the whole thing about Paul Walker who said an eigth movie was guaranteed to be made and Vin promised that and said that while 7 was 'for Paul', 8 is 'from Paul'... so, it's fate that this is a film that was going to happen.
Also, the movies have been less Fast and more Furious lately anyways...
