Some of these, like Hook and The Lost World, I haven't seen in 20+ years, so ratings are far from concrete. Respect Spielberg as a director, but he's never made anything I'd consider a personal favorite. I think all his movies could be improved with more scenes of Shia LeBeouf swinging though the jungle with monkeys.

And I have watched Temple of Doom and I hate every bit of it.

Good list, but IMO, Close Encounters and Bridge of Spies should be higher.
I should love Close Encounters - sci-fi, Spielberg in his prime but I don't. I always get bored when watching it and usually turn it off. Another one of those movies I wished I love but don't. Spies was ok but other than Rylance's performance I can't think of anything memorable about it.

But damn, a really solid ranking! Interesting that you put 1941 in your top ten. I’ve seen a measly four, but I’d rank them:

1. Jaws
2. Raiders of the Lost Ark
3. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
4. Minority Report

All very good movies.

Updated Ranking:

Need to rewatch: Schindler's List, Jaws, Saving Private Ryan, Amistad, Close Encounters...

1) IJ and the Last Crusade
2) Jurassic Park
3) War Horse (might get placed lower eventually for lack of rewatchability)
4, 5, and 6) Lincoln, Catch Me if You Can, and Raiders of the Lost Ark
7) The Terminal
8) E. T. The Extra-Terrestrial
9) Minority Report
10) IJ and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
11) Hook
12) The Adventures of Tintin
13, and 14) IJ and the Temple of Doom, and The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Watched Always, honestly I guess it'd be tied with Hook.

So:

1) IJ and the Last Crusade
2) Jurassic Park
3) War Horse (might get placed lower eventually for lack of rewatchability)
4, 5, and 6) Lincoln, Catch Me if You Can, and Raiders of the Lost Ark
7) The Terminal
8) E. T. The Extra-Terrestrial
9) Minority Report
10) IJ and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
11 and 12) Hook & Always
13) The Adventures of Tintin
14, and 15) IJ and the Temple of Doom, and The Lost World: Jurassic Park

Maybe he should have kept doing Columbo. Poor decision on his part.

He may have had more important movies or more popular ones but to me Catch Me If You Can is his best. I adore that flick. He even sent the Frank guy a note saying in all his movies he usually sees a scene or frame he doesn't like and wants to change. Told him Catch Me If You Can is his only movie he doesn't have that problem with.

I think everything up to Munich is pretty brilliant. Then everything else up to Catch is good enough. Things then start getting spottier. By the time we get to Lost World were in **** off territory

I've also neglected seeing at least ten of his titles. With maybe the exceptions of Sugarland and Tintin, I don't care.

Any list that doesn't have Raiders in the Top 5 has to be redone. I am not sure you can leave ET out of the top 5 either, or Jaws, for that matter.
