This is the thread for Jackie Chan / Police Story fans to discuss the sequel to the 2004 action-dramedy, New Police Story.



New Police Story II will be directed by the same dude who acted as the villian in Part 1 - Nicholas Tse.


Maybe this thread will be closed after 2025 when the movie is released in Australia.

Nicholas actually played the sidekick in Part 1. Daniel Wu was the main villain and he is returning in NPS2. Nicholas' fake cop gets to be a real cop and he and Chan learn their old enemy Joe Kwan is out of prison and has a plan of revenge set in motion after the events of Part 1.

The upcoming "New Police Story 2" <新警察故事2> reportedly revealed its synopsis:
"Following the murder of the Commissioner of Police, Inspector Cheng Siu-Fung (Nicholas Tse) and Chief Superintendent Chan Kwok-Wing (Jackie Chan) faced Joe Kwan (Daniel Wu) again, the main antagonist from the first movie who was arrested twenty years ago. Joe Kwan subsequently sought revenge after being released from prison and uses the media in his favour to humiliate the police force, which in turn, damaged the reputation of these once-esteemed police officers. Will the two police officers manage to overcome the crisis?"
The sequel sounds like a cross between "Police Story 2" <警察故事續集> and "Breaking News" <大事件>. Screenwriter Ronald Chan Kin-Hung of "Chasing the Dragon II: Wild Wild Bunch" <追龍II: 賊王> and "Enter the Fat Dragon" <肥龍過江> is in charge of the screenplay with Nicholas Tse serving as the director for the first time and Jackie Chan as the producer.
At the time of writing, "New Police Story 2" <新警察故事2> is still pending its release date.
