how u all doin

if you mightve heared in the news, Mel Gibson is workin on a film called THE PASSION which is about the last 12 hours of the life of jesus christ. SOme religious groups are opposing the film due to its content so it wont get released, (e.g the film shows jews are partly responsible for jesus death) well me, as a person who is an addict to movies and working for that as a career, am supporting to get the film more popular and publicized to help Mel get a distributor and the film gets released

so my request to you is this...PLZ, PLZ PLZ, anyone you konw or talk to, mention them the site of http://www.thepassionmovie.tk which is a site im currently working on but it has the film trailer and a forum. In order for mel to release the movie, more ppl have to protest FOR it. Making a film is one thing. "Distribution", getting it into theaters, is another. There is no doubt that PASSION will be carried in some movie theaters. However, those theaters may be few and far between and it may be a 60+ minute drive just to get to the "art movie theater" to see it. This is where 'distribution' is key. What we need to do now is to show the distribution company that people really will go see the film! The distributor will only push to get the film shown in the theaters it thinks that people will go watch it in. Distributing a film is an expensive and risky business and a company will only try to distribute a film that they think people will go to see!

WHAT IM DOIN IS NOT FOR RELIGIOUS PURPOSES, BUT TO HELP FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND A VISION OF A FILMMAKER TO BE SEEN LIKE HE WANTS IT TO BE SEEN AND NOT DUMPED B/C OF CLOSE MINDED PPL WHO THINK PERSONALY FOR THEMSELVES.

FAQ:
Q. When is the THE PASSION going to be in theaters?

(A) Tentative date is set for March or April of 2004.

Q. Is PASSION anti-semitic?

(A) A report from the Anti-Defamation League, based on comments on an ad-hoc committee of both Jews and Christians, states that it may inspire feelings of anti-Semitism. Mel Gibson has stated that many of the ad-hoc committee's comments were based on an early script of THE PASSION and that it does not reflect the final version of the film. Paul Lauer, spokesman for Gibson's Icon Productions, states that "Mel abhors anti-Semitism. In no way does his faith endorse hatred or bigotry or anti-Semitism or blame the Jews for the death of Christ."

Q. Is THE PASSION only for Christians?

(A) Mel Gibson states in an interview in March of 2003, "'Gandhi' was a blockbuster hit, but it wasn't just for Hindus. This film is for everyone. For believers and nonbelievers, Jesus Christ is undoubtedly one of the most important historical figures of all time. Name one person who has had a greater impact on the course of history."
Q. Is THE PASSION really going to be in Hebrew, Latin, and Aramaic?
(A) Yes, all spoken language in THE PASSION is either in Latin, Aramaic, or Hebrew. It is still under discussion as to whether or not there will be subtitles in the theater release. Rough cuts of the film that have been seen do contain subtitles throughout the film.

Q. Where was THE PASSION filmed?

(A) There were two main locations that THE PASSION was filmed. The crucifixion scenes were filmed in a beautiful city called Matera in the Basilicata area of Italy.
