I would tell you that you really need to watch the other 12 movies in my favorites list.

Interesting that you didn't like The Good and the Bad and The Ugly that much. I though that it was a classic the first second a saw it.

Cream, I expected that you would like Spirited Away and Totoro more than Princess Mononoke, since they are more accessible movies for a western audience.

2001 is obviously the most loved movie in my favorites list. Given it's minimalism and perfect execution it is something that very few people could find faults about.

1. Vertigo

2. Fanny and Alexander

2001 A Space Odyssey 4.5/5 defiantly in my top 50

Apocalypse Now 4.5/5 CHARLIE DON'T SURF!

8 1/2 3/5 for now at least. I have only seen it once, and I feel this movie will require multiple viewings from my to appreciate fully.

Playtime
(sorry, I like the mise en scene but as a whole 2-hour movie I just find it too dry and slow).
Raging Bull
(long overdue for a re-watch, but I remember it being very good).
The Searchers
(great western).
Le Mépris
(cf. Playtime).
Ugetsu
(cf. Raging Bull).
