Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid - Which version?

Tools

Which version of Sam Peckinpah's Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid (1973) should I watch?

I only have the 2005 Special Edition available at the moment. Is the 1988 version the better one to watch?

Thanks in advance!

Been a while since I have compared versions and I don't remember the specific differences other than running time, but as I recall the special edition or whatever they call it is the closest to being restored to Peckinpah's original intent, before the studio cut it. That's the one to watch.

Thanks a lot, Holden! I'll start off watching that version then and check out some of the different scenes in the other cut afterwards.
