Evil Does Not Exist - Ryusuke Hamaguchi

The new film from Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car) is due out in May.

I am intrigued. Have been feeling increasingly sad from all those ‘violations of nature’ films, but intrigued nonetheless.

Oh, I saw this back in the fall while it was part of the film festival circuit. I guess that's one reason why I didn't really hear anyone putting it on their best of '23 films list (also, a crowded year).

Yeah most people would wait until it's actually released commercially before including it on any list

I'm not watching the trailer, I'm not reading your posts (fearing spoilers). Hamaguchi is one of the best modern filmmakers. The likelihood this will be his another 10/10 masterpiece is high. Just release it already!
