I don't know of course if they did or didn't. I know she's a Puerto Rican born actress, dancer, singer. Here's another pic of her from the movie

Far left foreground in Wooley's last post. Yes, they darkened everybody's skin if they were cast as a Puerto Rican, including Rita Moreno. She says so herself.

She personally tells the story of how they painted her in brownface, even though she actually IS Puerto Rican, to match the brownface on all the White actors they had hired to play Puerto Ricans (like Natalie Wood, who was also in brownface).

Don't get me wrong, it's a ****ing amazing movie. But history is what it is.
