The thing about Rotten tomatoes is that it is an incomplete solution to the general problem of winnowing through the thousands of movies that exist to find movies that adhere most closely to your preferences.

I think the perfect solution would be an aggregate rating of Rotten Tomatoes (critics, most far removed from your own preferences), IMDB (crowd-sourced mass rating), and then recommendation algorithm trained with your own ratings, that way it combines both what you think you like (your revealed preferences) and what you don't know you like (critics finding diamonds in the rough that might be outside your normal domain of interest). Someone should make this aggregate rating!
