Movies You Anticipated To Be Good That Turned Out To Be Disappointing

Peter Pan- can we say, 'not deserving of the title'?

LotR: TTT- not even half as good as the first movie, what a dissapointment

The Village- I liked it, but not as much as I thought I would

Master of Disguise
I like Dana Carvey alot and I was hoping this would be good for his career when I first heard about it. I knew it was aimed at kids/family and I was hoping it was at least on the same level as George of the Jungle or The Parent Trap. When I saw the previews I hoping it was at least stupidly funny...it was just plan sad to see it bomb so badly. Maybe one day it will become a cult classic.

The fact is in this day and age, it is hard for a movie to live up to expectation. Instead of studios making good films and relying on word of mouth, they make addiquite films that they can market the hell out of. It is such a shame, I love movies so much but hate the business with an extrem passion. I get so mad at myself because I just by into the marketing(ie the Matrix 2 and 3) and countinue to dump my money into these crappy films, hoping that the next one will be different. I can't sit here an honestly say I won't go to the movies or won't see sequels, because I know I will. I can't offer much of a solution to this problem, so I guess this just amounts to a childish rant. Well if nothing else I feel better now.

NOT ACTUALLY BANNED
I thought I would love Do the Right Thing, Gladiator, 21 Grams, and Requiem for a Dream when went into watch them, but I thought they were total trash.

Other movies I was simply "Disappointed" in, are...

Leon
Pulp Fiction
The Shawshank Redemption
LOTR Trilogy
The Silence of the Lambs

I'm sure there are more...

Aliens 3 and 4
Elektra
The Crow 2
Lethal Weapons 3 and 4
Spawn
Bad Boys 2
Kill Bill Volume 2
Dogma
Jeepers Creepers 2
Miami Vice
Halloween flicks after 4
Signs
Die Hard 3
Escape from L.A.
Matrix 3 (I actually liked 2 the most!)
AVP
Kingdom of Heaven
Terminator 3

Oh, I forgot Once Upon a Time in Mexico. After Desperado and El Mariachi, I was very dissappointed in this third installment. Eva Mendez is the only thing that makes it watchable to me now.

Requiem for a Dream
Pulp Fiction
The Shawshank Redemption
The Silence of the Lambs

I'm sure there are more...
wow! What didn't you like about them?

The Fabulous Sausage Man
wow! What didn't you like about them?
I liked them, but they are extremely overrated.

I liked them, but they are extremely overrated.

I feel the same way regarding "The Godfather", "One Flew Over The Cookoo's Nest", and "Scarface". I do not get the big deal in any of those even though I own 2 of these films.

I agree that the hype for some of those mentioned is a little too much, even though I LOVE the movies to death.

I just know they're coming to kill me.
Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas

Loved the beginning, but it started to loose me once they were on the bar carousel. Little parts here and there were funny after, but bleh.

It was supposed to be a comedy I liked it it a lot, I saw it as the decent of the characters into the hell of Drug addiction

Pulp Fiction was average, Silence of the Lambs and Shawshank were good, but not brilliant and Requiem for a Dream, as I have said before, is the worst movie I have ever seen.

Requiem did nothing but showed a lot of people enjoying life and then losing their minds. Woohoo.

Death Is So Becoming ;>
Da Vinci Code
X-Men 3
Casino Royale
