Movies with an erotic content?

I can think of a few;

9 & 1/2 Weeks
Secretary
Preaching to the perverted
U-Turn

Can anyone think of others that may fit this genre?

Independents?
Small budgets?
A small cast?

Not sure I understand your definition of "erotic content" as I didn't find U Turn to be particularly erotic. Actually, not erotic at all. And Secretary struck me as being more about masochism than actual sex.

But for erotic content, aside from porno or trash like Caligula, I'd suggest my favorite movie, Quills.

I must admit, it wasn't the most appropriate word, but nonetheless, you understood my meaning. And thank you for your suggestion. I don't want porno flicks either.

One thing that I've discovered, there is a limited amount of movies in this Genre, within the English speaking world. As I don't speak French, it makes it difficult to find such Movies, and to be honest, if anyone knows of french films in this Genre, that would be most helpful also.

I went to Showgirls right after the awful reviews figuring it would at least be worth seeing for the nudity stuff and it wasn't.

Are you mad? Showgirls is so funny. If Hollywood could make comedies even half that funny, I'd have a never ending line of mirth.

I'd also recommend Boogie Nights and Wild Things. Again, I don't know just how close they are to what you want, but they're both really enjoyable films.

I totally agree. It is a camp classic.


However, I don't agree with this. Hated them both.

Thanks to everyone, especially honeykid. I have seen many of these movies funnily enough.

I suppose what I was interested in seeing was a Movie purely about sexual lust, costumes, fantasy. When you've finished watching the Movie, your not only aroused but a little shocked also.

I'll catch an indie movie every once and a while. This one was decent as a movie overall (a little disturbing...more for those who like the freaky sh#t). But as far as erotic.....Alba bare ass slapped...hard. Nough said.

I don't understand why no one has mentioned this erotic masterpiece starring the sex symbol of the seventies.

Plus the director Catherine Breillat, who rejects the prurient world view that sex is bad so most of her films are filled with sex scenes, which are, for most part decidedly unerotic.

In the Realm of the Senses

Tis' a great film from a great filmmaker. The compositions are flawless. If Ozu directed a porno, this would be it.

Tinto Brass's Caligula is an absolutely awful film, but has top-notch actors like Malcolm McDowell, Helen Mirren, and Peter O'Toole in it. It's not lacking in the explicit material either.

They have some titles that people would consider "soft-core" porn, e.g. Emmanuelle. Try searching the categories "erotic thrillers" or "steamy romance."
