City of Men

Is anyone else as excited as me about this follow up to 2002's City of God.

I loved City of God, it's one of my fave foreign films, and judging by the trailer City of Men appears to have many similarities in style and direction.

I've never watched the tv series of the same name, although I'll probably give it a go before this comes out.

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbour?

i saw City of God and it was a surprise hit for me. I was a little skeptical at first but it was done very well, and I highly recommend it for people who want something a little different and not something so Hollywood. Great acting and a film addict favorite!

I already forwarded the link to my friends when I saw this was going to be dropped. I'm gonna watch it!

It's based on a television series spun off from City of God by the directors. Apparently some of the actors are the same, as well, though from what I understand it doesn't follow the same characters.

Love City of God - though this is directed by a whole new guy : not that i'm a fan of the City of God director - constant gardener was horrible.

I just saw this movie. I don't want to give anything away, but let's just say it may look like City of God, it may feel like City of God, but--for me--it's nowhere near City of God.

From what I've read, the two differ quit a bit regarding style and pacing...people who are expecting a sequel to CoG may be a tad disappointed.
