Into the Forest (2015)

I saw this at an early screening the other day. There was a Q&A with the director and a moderator after the movie. It hits mainstream theaters in June. I'm a little surprised to find out it was made in 2015. It's starring Ellen Paige and Evan Rachel Wood, and directed by Patricia Rozema. Rozema said that Paige showed her the book and was interested in doing the project with her, Paige also co-produced it. It's set in a non-specified near future, indistinguishable from the present, in which society breaks down and two girls and their father survive in their house in the woods cut off from the collapsing world. There is a strong feminist agenda throughout the movie. It was well shot, and the acting was excellent, but I felt like attention to detail was lacking a little and the subject matter was not expertly handled. Overall it was a good movie, though not great. I give it
.

You can't win an argument just by being right!
Two actress I really like. I'll give it a go.Had not heard of it.

Name something lately that doesn't have a strong feminist agenda. Or at least thinks it does.
