thanks for the upvote thief, requiem is definitely one of those high-cringe films and is deeply disturbing, everytime i watched it, it's like "wtf?"

Requiem For a Dream will definitely make my ballot. In my opinion, it contains the single best horror movie performance from a female actress (Ellen Burstyn).

I recently rewatched the Lord of the Rings trilogy. It was great and boy weren't those different times. Then there's that Hobbit trilogy...let's forget those. I think if one were to make my list it would be Fellowship but probably won't include any in my top 25. The trilogy as a whole could make it but my missing vote won't keep all three out of the top 25.

Like the fella says, in Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock."

Letterboxd stats for today. These are the 20 most "popular" films of 2004...
I was pretty surprised that “Troy” or “Bourne Supremacy” wasn’t on either list, mostly just the popular list, those films were a pretty big deal back in 2004
