Radioactive Spider Blood
Here's your chance to determine who was the best caped-crusader in film.

The choices:

Adam West - Starred as Batman on the original run of the TV show, as well as in a feature length film.

Michael Keaton - Starred as Batman in two films (1989's Batman and 1992's Batman Returns).

Val Kilmer - Starred as Batman in one film, 1995's Batman Forever.

George Clooney - Starred as Batman in one film, 1997's Batman & Robin.

I went with Val Kilmer, because he was, in my opinion, the best actual Batman. Keaton, however, was the best Bruce Wayne...I draw a subtle line between the two. I found Keaton more believable as a billionaire, but less believable as a bada**.

A novel adaptation.
So very Adam West. He rocks my world. He had a belly too, something that no Batman has ever reproduced, all the new Batmans have six packs, and well defined pecs. Bring back Adam West!

Radioactive Spider Blood
I chose Val myself. I think he had the best combination of the two- Bruce Wayne and Batman. Keaton wasn't buff enough for Batman, and Clooney wasn't much of either. Adam West rocked, but Val Kilmer had the dark side to him that makes Batman such an awesome character.

There's only one, "I'm Batman!" I want to hear, and that's Keatons.

For cheesy performances in goofy half hour comedies and goofy softcore porno movies, West is fine. For real Batman stuff, I go with Kilmer and Keaton in a dead heat. I'll pick Keaton just barely.

On previous performances, I go with Keaton too.

Yoda summed it up pretty good...he doesn`t appear hard or the Superhero type out of cossie, and did seem as if he`d be more at home in an accountants office in that guise, but he had a cool presence in the role overall , plus I reckon he did have the best looking Batman jaw .

I think, at the time, Clooney was completely overawed by playing opposite an (at the time) A-List Schwarzennegger, and didn`t do himself justice at all as the caped one.
If given a second chance under a Director who knows the role and can showcase Batman in the best light, I still believe he is the most suited actor around today for the job.

I gotta go with Adam West. He's a Batman for the people. All the other Batmen had six-packs, while our man West had a keg. He IS Batman, old chum....unless William Shatner ever played Batman.

It's Michael Keaton no doubt about it.

Adam West - Too corny

Val Kilmer - Too gay

George Clooney - Just was no Batman nor Wayne whatsoever. Like watching E.R. with costumes on.

Plain and simple.

A novel adaptation.
Too corny? Too corny?! Damnit, all the Adam West hatred flying around, it's wrong, just wrong.

The Future Ed Wood
keaton was the better actor for both roles. he played the dark side of the caped crusader very well! i liked it in B returns when he tears off his mask because hes a mix of two

Put me in your pocket...
Adam West gets my vote! I love the campiness of the series.

As far as those dark movies....Keaton then Clooney. I'm not a fan of Val Kilmer.

I ain't gettin' in no fryer!
Aniko, I only have one thing to change about what you said, I prefer Kilmer to Clooney. Other than that, I agree with what you said.

Kilmer pulled off the Bruce Wayne look, but failed in making a convincing Batman. Clooney and Keaton tied on the Batman aspect, but Keaton takes the prize, overall.

I couldn't have said it better. ^.^

Keaton!!!! But that could have been because it was a Tim Burton Batman, if Kilmer was in a Tim Burton Batman film my opinion may have changed. But because the new Batman films (Forever, Robin) are so whacky and silly- I can't take anyone in that movie seriously. Kilmer looked really cool in the suit n sh*t and he's an amazing actor- but the movies are just way too corny. I like the good ol dark Batman movies, not the new NEON futuristic bullsh*t Batman films.

Adam West as Batman is like the complete opposite- so I don't even compare. Adam West's series was comedy- and as a comedy- it's great. Keaton's series was serious, dark and extremely well done. Kilmer's and Clooney's series was kiddy, neon, slapstick bullsh*t. Although I didn't mind Batman Forever, but Batman & Robin is shameful.

My vote: Michael Keaton

Val, but my favorite batman movie is Batman Returns. So dark and humorous. Great stuff.

There is but one Batman and his name is Keaton.

Annie
I'm not a fan of Val Kilmer.
Shame on you!

Messenger from Hades' Gate
I must apologise to my favorite actor, Val Kilmer (please forgive me!) but Keaton was the best, although it was probably because he was working with a better DIRECTOR. Tim Curton is probably the only person who ever stopped and thought, "Batman, a guy dressing up as a bat who saw his parents murdered as a child. . . this guy has to be seriously messed up in the head!"

My favorite part of any Batman movie is when Michael Keaton first meets Kim Basinger in the first movie. He just sets his wine glass on the pool table and walks off, and Alfred has to save the glass from falling and shattering. No one but Keaton did a successful job of showing how completely nuts Batman was!
