80s/90s film - cross country opening

Here, There and Everywhere
Hi all,

The only scene I remember from this particular film was a fit teenage boy running in what appears to be a cross country race at the beginning of the film, I'm pretty sure he's competing against other people, otherwise he is training on his own. I can't remember actors but Dolph Lundgren comes to mind, not sure why. I think the boy is the film's protagonist but the running scene is a flashback of his childhood, the movie it set when he is older. I don't think running is apart of the film's overall plot but just a scene to put over the setting. I think he grows up to be maybe a police officer or member of the special forces.

Thanks.

Definitely not Gallipoli or Forrest Gump as I've seen both of them and know them quite well, Pentathlon looks like it might be the winner, I'll have a look.
