Ron Cobb - King Maker

Ron Cobb is a cartoonist, visual artist, techno wizard. He is also an advisor on shot composition and has influenced many of the top visual directors and FXs movies of the past thirty years. Additionally he is a writer (uncredited) who has contributed to many classic action films.

Some of the highest paid directors making the biggest films began their careers with the help of this man’s genius (Spielberg, Lucas, Scott, Cameron).

Ron Cobb has been a massive force in the evolution of film making. His primary contribution being that his artwork raised the standard of quality for science fiction genre films. He is catalyst for turning B movie scripts into A movie projects.

He is, simply put, awesome. And we all owe him.

One of the secrets to JC's success. I don't believe Ron gets any credit for Avatar, but many of the assault ship designs look a lot like his work for Aliens.
