I love these,

Crazy, Stupid, Love

Dumb & Dumber

Mean Girls

The Hangover

In the Loop

Not a fan of comedies, but these are my 10 favourites i can easily watch again

10 - The Devil Wears Prada.... Brilliant brutal one liners

9 - Zoolander (it needs a sequel)

8 - 50 First Dates... simply coz its a very original premise

7 - Drag Me To Hell... Caught off guard by the level of humour this film had. Its strange thats its marketed as a pure horror.

6 - Cabin in the Woods.... Nice mix of horror/comedy/sci-fi/satire

5 - Meet the Parents... Cute film. Didn't like the sequels though.

4 - Austin Powers International Man of Mystery... So silly but it knows it.

3 - House Party... Underrated classic from the early 90s and some could say gave birth to the modern Hip Hop and R&B culture of today.

2 - The Lady Killers... The original version.

1 - Ghostbusters... This film would make my top 10 sci-fi and horror lists as well.

1) Modern Times
2) Life of Brian
3) This is spinal Tap
4) City Lights
5) Some like it hot
6) Bringing up Baby
7) Blazing saddles
8) Philadelphia story
9) Annie Hall
10) Son's of the Desert

How has nobody mentioned the best comedy of all time? The Big Lebowski.

Then Dr. Strangelove, This is Spinal Tap, and Borat are three great ones off the top of my head.

I only really have three favourite comedies. Dumb and Dumber, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, and The Big Lebowski.

I've seen plenty, but most of them were above-average or stupid, some were bad, and some were awful. I need to see some older ones, though. And even though I didn't really love all his movies, I would never say no to a movie that Steve Martin is in. He makes a comedy watchable even if it's extremely stupid.

Have you seen "Bringing down the house"

The comedy movies that I rated
:

After Hours (1985)
The Apartment (1960)
Brazil (1985)
Bullets Over Broadway (1994)
Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989)
Dr. Strangelove (1964)
Ed Wood (1994)
The Graduate (1967)
Midnight in Paris (2011)
Some Like It Hot (1959)

Most of these films also have a dramatic side and that's probably why I like them so much. I LOVE the mix of comedy and drama!

Let's see, comedies that I rate
? Well I can recall the following:

- Dr. Strangelove
- Back to the Future
- Pulp Fiction
- City Lights

Only four or maybe five among the 70 or so movies that I have watched which I rate
. So I am not the biggest fan of comedies.

Some comedies which I rate equal or above
:

- The Producers
- Duck Soup
- The Big Lebowski
- Life of Brian
- The Graduate
- Annie Hall

Pulp Fiction is not a comedy. It only has some comic elements.

Otherwise it would also be on my list.

Well, the whole thing is so absurd that the emotional reaction I got from watching it was the same as watching a comedy, the whole movie fells like a self conscious satire. Others may take it more seriously.

I have seem people classify Kubrick's Barry Lyndon as a comedy, though. That would be the fifth
comedy I watched.

I took IMDB as the standard to classify the films on my list as comedies. With the exception of Brazil, which is obviously a dark comedy, but isn't listed as one.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.

I don't think you understand what "comedy" means, at least in English. Kinda like this guy.

Pulp Fiction I would sayis not a comedy, just because films are hilarious and make you laugh it doesn't mean it's a comedy. A lot funnier than a lot of actually comedies though.

But on the topic of non-pure comedies, Fargo is a brilliant 'dark comedy' film.

Liar Liar
Yes Man
Dumb and Dumber
Get Smart
Cop Out
This is 40
Bridesmaids
Parental Guidance
City Slickers
Planes, Trains and Automobiles
The Jerk

I would say Pulp Fiction qualifies as a comedy, but not a pure one.
