Movie which I have a vague memory of

Hi,


I have a very vague image of a film in my head.


The image I have is that, toward the end, there is a tragic scene in which we see the happier life the main character would have if he had chose to spend his life with the woman he loves.



I'm pretty sure this alternate reality is related to a choice by the main character of not living a life with the women he loves.



I'm also pretty sure that it's a pretty famous movie, I just don't remember which one. I also have the intuition that the movie is quite recent.
