at least as bad as The Basketball Diaries.
What didn't you like about The Basketball Diaries?

I'll have to review it in my thread soon you can see my thoughts. I have it on Blu-ray but I haven't watched it yet. I saw it a couple of years ago but I can't remember it all clearly. I liked it, though.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
It gets a really high rating at IMDb, but I'm thinking that has something to do with Jim Carroll or the general love nowadays for crappy drug movies. Metacritic gives it a 46, but even that seems too high. The director has only made one film in the last 16 years since he made it, and The BD was his first film.

I was so sorry to hear that Jim Carroll died two years ago.

I liked Leonardo's performance - he's one of my favorite actors. Plus, he and Mark Wahlberg flash their asses in one scene, that was nice. Maybe that's why it has a high rating.

Usually I tend to stick to free-to-air/freeview channels, unless there's something a little bit out of the ordinary (usually on Sky Arts or something.) I usually have a mix of films that I like and films that are generally lauded. I always try to add films that are on the lists, whether I like them or not.

However, feel free to add any films you like. You're not treading on toes here.

That's what I thought at first but then I noticed the odd one (like Sky Arts as you say, Syfy and Sky1) so wasn't sure.

Well, I couldn't pass up offering Total Recall, on Sky 1. I'd recommend watching that at any time. It's such a great film. And I know a lot of people like Neil Marshall, so I added Doomday.
