Ghost Dog, in Jarmusch's Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999), is one of the coolest characters I could think of. I mean, the idea of a killer, who is actually a samurai, in the present time, living in a city, can only be claimed as beyond cool.


I'd say also Jeffrey 'The Dude' Lebowsky, in The Big Lebowski (1998), and


Henri Charriere, in Papillon (1973).
