Ahhh! Thank, LordSlaytan! I guess this is kind of off topic, but that was really nice. Darkside, I'm Shunning the people who both watch, support, create, and participate in these Girl's Gone Wild. Imagine how here parents would feel if they found out, let alone how the daughter would feel, I seriously doubt she gave them permission to put it on tape and sell it on the black market. And she probobly hired her cousin, Danny to break the Producer's kneecaps, and be put in jail for 14 to 18 months, but it's not like I know anything about stuff like that...

Oh, I dunno; I don't think porn is really about immaturity. It's just an animal desire thing. Plenty of mature people are into it. I think Girls Gone Wild bothers more people than most porn (I'm using the term porn loosely here) because these people aren't being paid and don't always completely realize what they're doing.

It's the idea of watching girls lifting their tops and flashing the cameras and stuff. It's a waste of film......There are other things worth seeing than women on camera degrading themselves.

I'm not actually angry. It's just a little...vulgar to talk about a semi-porn video advertised during late-at-night Baywatch marathons.

Sorry, I've never heard of The School of the Americas. I was out of the service by '91, was it around before then?

It's been around since soon after WWII, although I don't know if it's always been at Ft. Benning.

The SOA is where they train Central American soldiers to become dictators and such. I wish I were joking. What's odd is that my students brought this up in discussion today in class, and then I come to MoFo and see Ft. Benning in a Girls Gone Wild thread.

I tell you, I love the weirdness of life. But I don't love the SOA.

Well, to get it back on topic, I have to confess that I'm in one of those videos. I'm the girl on Bourbon Street, the one wearing the shirt and the beads--you know, the one who's shaking her boobies. Batten down the hatches I'm fixin' to rant.

First:
I was about 99.9% NOT serious about what I said at the beginning of this thread. I don't condemn what anyone does because I have a lifetime of guilt myself, however, Girls gone Wild does not a thing for me.

That being said, all the arguments about the girls not knowing what's happening etc drives me insane. Look, NEVER once in my life have I had the luxury of not having to live with the consequences of my actions, however stupid they were. To me, if one CHOOSES to get smashed and lose control of themselves then in effect one Chooses the consequences. I'm far from high and mighty... I HAVE lived with the consequences of my actions when I have done things 'under the influence' or made bad choices.

Second:
There's too much focus being put on the people who make these films when in reality they should have nothing to shoot. If they do find themselves with subject matter, well, then, whose fault is it?

Again, I'm not condemning anyone. To me porn is ok as long as ADULTS (18+) are making the choices to participate. If kids are involved in any way then it's time to dust off the chopping block.
