Agreed Sades... if it's the one I am thinking of it really bothered me that so many cops were shot. It's becoming increasingly popular to kill cops in movies and that's a trend I am not very fond of, especially when the audience cheers. It's disgusting actually.

They both were great when younger, but now they kind of suck. De Niro phones it in, and Pacino is more mannered than Bette Davis. He even sounds like Bette Davis.

Neither, Jack Nicholson

Close race, I used to prefer Pacino but I think Taxi Driver officially makes De Niro my second favorite actor (behind Nicholson)

I've got soul but I'm not a soldier
It's extremely tough to pick an actor of the 2 as both of them are my FAVOURITE GREAT ACTORS.

It's a tie for me, because I appreciate both.

Don't be fooled by the shouty, sweary Al you lot have seen since the 90's. He is an actor of great depth when he wants to be. You only have to look at his performances in Insomnia and The Godfather Trilogy to know how good he can be.

That said, I prefer DeNiro. I think he has challenged himself a little more when you look at their overall careers and he is a bit better at expressive himself strongly without dialogue.

Tough one. Arguably two of the ten or twenty finest actors in Hollywood.

Let us compare their best performances.

De Niro
  • Godfather 2
  • Taxi Driver
  • Deer Hunter
  • Raging Bull
  • Goodfellas
  • Awakenings
  • Cape Fear
  • Casino
  • Heat

Al Pacino
  • Godfather
  • Godfather 2
  • Godfather 3
  • Serpico
  • Dog Day Afternoon
  • And Justice For All
  • Scarface
  • Sea of Love
  • Frankie and Johnny
  • Scent of a Woman
  • Carlito's Way
  • Heat

I have to possibly give De Niro the slight edge.

Both are fantastic and have epic performances in some of the most memorable roles.
