Vere is dis music of which you speak? can you post music? that would be a very big attachment yes? or links to music would be awesome. Usually I love people's favourite band/musician no matter who they are it's the 2nd or 3rd favourite I have issues with. Also they have to be near my age, my friend's little sister who is still obsessed with Hanson doesn't count see

okay then.
my all-time fave is Throwing Muses
they even discovered the Pixies and recommended them to the 4AD company back in the ... uh... let's forget dates - makes me feel older than i am...

here is their official website, that used to be better. see, it used to be full of free downloadable unpublished songs and even videos... but now they reformed under the name 50Footwave and it's not what it used to be. tis full of info though, and pics, and some other nice stuff.

to download (although the "old" Throwing Muses songs are real not the best ones...):

many many links (explore it!):

and here are good videos' downloads:

at amazon:

the best one, ever, was their first album.
it completely changed my taste in music back then, and i still suffer the consequences...

Am checking them out as we speak. I'll let you know sometime soon what I reckon as I'm too tired to listen to a lot of them now. Which is their first album? The discography confused me a bit.

the first one was actually untitled. nothing is on the cover, but i saw it mentioned sometimes as America. some other times as Throwing Muses, but that can be true since there's a more recent album (2000) called this. so it must be either Untitled or America. and i like this last name.

In A Doghouse may actually now be the best buy for non-collectors, since it republishes the first album + lots of unpublished stuff from their first not commercialized demo tapes, and a mini-LP impossible to find else (it's a double CD, containing a good resume of the band's history!!):

else, for authenticity (but difficult to find, depending where you live ), the first album looks like:

by the way, i really love Red Heaven too. to me it's their number two best.

Shannon Wright

my new fave, now that Throwing Muses are gone...
the only one too i/my tastes don't feel betrayed by, like Catpower or Tori Amos or Kristin Hersh (see later)...

5 albums, the 2. and 4. ones being the best, they had me climbing the walls in extasy, and it hasn't changed since then. i discovered her late, in 2004, but being in Chicago at the time does make it even stronger an event.

With Closed Eyes is the best song of 2004 for me.
listen:

and then she played and sang with the great Yann Tiersen /hei, fans of Amélie!! )

and you can read this too:

discography:

or better, more recent, in a fansite:

http://www.quiltofdemand.org/discography/overthesun/

the best being:

Maps Of Tacit

and

Over The Sun

really, some of the most beautiful, saddest songs (both going together for me anyways) i've ever heard.

and then there's still Catpower, not as good i.m.o. as she used to be, but still around.

aka Chan Marshall

yep, again a female musician/singer. my faves are.

pics and lyrics:

http://www.alwaysontherun.net/catpower.htm

and infos:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cat_Power

the best albums are for me (i have them all, and will keep bying her albums even if it doesn't give me as much as it used to):

Dear Sir CD/LP(10") (1995, Runt Records) (reissued CD/LP(12") 2003, Plain records)
Myra Lee (1996, Smells Like Records)
What Would the Community Think (1996, Matador Records)

music without these albums, just like without Throwing Muses first album and Shannon's second and fourth, wouldn't be what it is. as simple as that.
