It's a tie between Psycho and Rear Window. On the one hand you have a brilliantly sewn together story. On the other hand you have Jimmy Stewart.

best movie using one of alfreds wel known film devices?
The McGuffin used in Pulp Fiction - off the top of my head, it's the only one I can think of. Plus Pulp Fiction is an amazing movie so I'd say it's a solid choice.
