Homosexuality in Disney's Atlantis?

Now that I think about it... and have become increasingly paranoid... I'm wondering if stuff like this is intentional.

There's nothing wrong with being gay, I have gay friends (HaHa...I love that, like "I have black friends"... HeeHee, sorry, digression)

Anyways, I wonder if the business of film introduces things in small bites to make it more palatable to the masses... know what I mean?

Example:

1957, Lucy and Ricky could be shown in bed but they each had to have a foot on the floor. 2003, NYPD blue... peoples are getting the friction on. Everything in between led up to it... in very small portions.

The above is true of the silver screen as well. Do you think if homosexuality were portrayed/hinted at then it was meant as a small desensitation device?

I think I heard about some of that; there was a very specific something on NYPD Blue that had a few people up in arms, wasn't there? Refresh my memory, I'm drawing a blank on specifics.

Anyway, Sir Toose makes a fine point. It's hard to identify whether or not this is one of those "ease them into it" kind of scenarios, though. I'm still unconvinced.

Oh...
I'm not aware of anything on NYPD as of late. I picked that show for it's reputation, past performance, and for the fact that it's on network tv.

I'm pretty sure that people who make film use it to forward their own beliefs... however subtly. Obviously, here I'm taking a stab in the dark to illustrate a possibility.
