I don't like shojo's so I'm not really interested in Harui Suzumiya, but I'll check up the rest

Haruhi Suzumiya is based shonen manga actually. Main character is a 17 year old guy.

Whisper of the Heart is based on shojo manga, though. It's a very feminine and subtle film. Same applies to Only Yesterday, based on a josei manga.

I've read some of the Haruhi Suzumya manga and didn't really care for it. I'd like to see Only Yesterday and Whisper of the Heart because it's Takahata (only yesterday) and Miyazaki wrote Whisper of the Heart

Alter Egos, not based on a comic per se, but it does revolve around superheroes and such. It's actually really good. A whole new look at superheroes and their powers.
