1980's movie help

I have been racking my brain trying to remember a movie I saw some time between 1985-1988. All I can recall at this time is that it involves a string of comedic? mishaps to a girl (I believe) over the course of maybe just 24 hrs. I believe she got locked out of her apartment and then all these crazy things happened. Sorry can't remember more right now. Tia
