No Country... is so much better than There Will Be Blood it hurts. I wouldn't put Michael Clayton anywhere near great either, though it isn't bad. Loved Ratatouille.

I seem to recall Ridley Scott explicitly stating the film won't be as violent as the book, although I can't remember where I read that. Can't be a particularly true adaptation if that is the case.

personally i'm like that with almost every movie; even stuff written primarily to entertain like the bourne/HP/LOTR/spiderman films has a ton of thematic layers etc which can be analysed to death
