Re: MoFo Top 100 Horror Movies: The List

I've seen The Host, it was alright. Not seen The Conjuring. To be honest I'm a little surprised I've seen 2/4 so far; I was expecting more obscure films to show up first off. Looking at some of the...

Re: MoFo Top 100 Horror Movies: The List

I see my #25 didn't make the 1-pointers list, serves me right for trying to game the list :o I don't think it will show up on the list proper. I think the only 1 pointer I have seen is Pitch Black,...

I think there are lots of good films in the horror genre when judged by character, plot or technical attributes, it doesn't have to be a list of the scariest movies or the most horrible movies. ...

Re: Question about the ending of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984)

Funnily enough, I watched it for the first time the other day and had the same question. The more you think about it the less sense it makes. Half the people in the scene are already dead. I think...

Re: The Movie Forums Top 100 Horror Movies

I'm getting to the point where the more I look at my list and try to order it, the more I can't really remember how much I like any of these movies. I'm going to sleep on it (and hope I don't have...

The Haunting(1963) 4

A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984) 3

An interesting double bill, watched for the upcoming Horror Countdown. The Haunting had some clunky backstory/voiceover stuff but once it...

I've got a couple of classics I want to watch before sending my list, but I'll send one. It will be mostly zombies though.

Re: 2018 Mofo Film Awards

I forgot Paddington 2 was 2018 tbh, it came out so early in the year. I didn't like it as much as the first one anyway.

The Girl With All the Gifts (2016)

Emotionally involving, thought-provoking and genuinely horrifying.

Jack and Diane (2012)

Pretty excruciating watching scenes where there is literally no script and the actors just sort of shrug and mumble at each other. Disappointingly dull.

Re: The Umbrella Academy

Watched the first episode. It's like somebody took that what if Wes Anderson directed X-Men video and actually made it into a TV show.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Saw

The Little Stranger (2018)

Ruth Wilson and the general atmosphere were good. Weirdly paced though, which is not the case for the book, and goes over the same flashback too many times.

I'm not exactly excited about this, but I feel like I should have more faith in Marvel; they're almost always at least enjoyable.

All the Money in the World (2017)

Not bad, but suffers in comparison to the TV version of this story, Trust, which is better in pretty much every way.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)

Easily the best Spider-Man movie, and one of the best comic-book movies too (and there have been a lot of good comic book movies in the last ten years)....
