Re: Korean Cinema Fans

Snowpiercer was awesome. Similarly with The Man from Nowhere, I didn't expect it to be much, but it got my attention quickly, which lasted all the way until the end scene and a few months after that...

Do you have any other Korean crime film to recommend? Not necessarily the one like The Man From Nowhere but something of a similar genre.

The Man from Nowhere is one of my favourite movies of all time. Partially because I didn't expect it to be that good and was just looking for some martial arts fun, partially because it was THAT...

Re: The worst movie youve seen thats come out in past 20 years.

Chloe (2009) - slow, dull, nonsensical, silly. Doesn't help that everyone's an absolute idiot in the movie, and not in an entertaining way.
Virgin Suicides (1999) - just some ******** flick, no...

Re: Terminator 1 vs Terminator 2

I enjoyed both movies very much, but as far as comparisons go, 1st is hands down better for me. For one, I'm a sucker for origin stories, I simply love when story kicks off, that's why 99% of the...

Yeah, same thing goes for the term "objectively" (ESPECIALLY in caps). Saying something is objectively better or worse is non-argument, simply because the whole matter in question is subjective....

Re: Most Overrated Films

My take on "overrated" and "underrated" films is that there's no such thing. Saying something is overrated is just pseudo-fancy way of saying 'I don't like it as much as others do'.

Re: What's Your Least Favorite/Most Hated Movie... and Why?

Gran Torino. Eastwood ripped off his own Million Dollar Baby which was great IMO. Tried to do the same thing, but it didn't feel real for one second. Cheap, forced, cliched.

Re: Favourite Screen Villains

If I'd have to pick my absolute favourite, it's probably Hans Landa from Inglourious Basterds. Funny, frightening, crazy, rational, psychotic and everything else all at the same time.

Re: Movies You Wished Didn't End As Soon As They Did

Fargo. I was so bummed it ended that I watched the credits roll for like 5 minutes, expecting the scene to be tucked somewhere in them, like in a damn Marvel movie or something.

Iron Man is easily my favorite Marvel movie so far. As far as superhero movies go, I guess only Unbreakable would be higher up the list.

Kingpin is hilarious. Harrelson and especially Murray sold their roles. And I still crack up every time I see Murray's hairdo at the end of the movie.

I also enjoyed Two Towers the most out of the trilogy. Battle of Helm's Deep was by far most impressive visually to me, and Uruk-hai along with Ents were entertaining bonuses to the story.
