They have no choice given high ticket prices, international markets, and high production and marketing costs. That is, make more long spectacles with fantasy elements.

There's something wrong with the story, transition from scene to scene, and characterization of Napoleon. I think one flaw involved attempting to cram his whole story into one film.

I think there's not much new content that can be added to the franchise unless its context is merely used as a skin to create regular drama, political intrigue, etc.
