Yeah. But at least YOLT has the little moments that LALD does not such as a big climatic villain plot or a Q scene to set up the gadgets, etc.

Rank the James Bond films

Re: Rank the James Bond films

After watching all the Bond movies, I have to say these two are right in the middle between good and bad Bond movies, and it's hard to decide on them.

The problem I have with YOLT is that the...

Roger Moore is the worst Bond! Comments?

Re: Roger Moore is the worst Bond! Comments?

I think I would have to agree that Moore is the worst Bond but I don't think he is bad though, just the least best. I feel that he is kind of flat in his first two outings, but then comes around in...

Re: No Time to Die

It seems that opinions are very mixed about this movie. One thing about the movie that concerns me as to whether or not I will like it is what i read in this article. It's not really a spoiler on...

Re: Stu Presents, Men & Women Of Action: When Genre & Gender Collide!

I can understand the mis-casting, but as a character Christmas Jones seems more feminist, and doesn't like to take crap, and is resourceful when it comes to fixing problems, so I thought fans would...

I didn't mind Christmas Jones because even though she may have been mis-cast, I don't think there was anything wrong with the character as written, unless I am wrong?

Re: Stu Presents, Men & Women Of Action: When Genre & Gender Collide!

That's true, it's just that before LTK, it seems they kept flipping back and forth. Goldfinger had strong women, TB strong, but then YOLT had weak ones, OHMMSS strong, DAF weak, LALD...

Re: Stu Presents, Men & Women Of Action: When Genre & Gender Collide!

Well as far as Bond movies go, it seems to me that ever since Licence to Kill more so, the women characters have become stronger and that that one was a bit of a gamechanger for the ones that...

I have hardly seen any so I am not sure on the industry but I am hoping to watch more. Some I have seen:

A Separation
Circumstance
The Other Son (unless this does not count since it was...

Re: CURRENT MOVIE CLICHES

I have to say, I think I like the woke villain if a good portion of James Bond movies count for example. I like the idea of villains wanting to change the world for self righteous fascistic reasons,...

Re: Alec Baldwin accidentally kills crew member with prop gun

I read somewhere that the gun was loaded with prop bullets so the camera cannot see that the gun was empty, by seeing through the cylinder holes.

So they had to load it with dummy bullets to sell...

I didn't think the investors would want to risk ruining their own film and figured that the sabotage would have to be committed by a disgruntled lower rank in the production. But if it was sabotage,...

Re: Why I find Gladiator (2000) to be slightly annoying

I've always been mixed on Gladiator. I find that I do not like the way the action scenes are done because it introduced that jittery camera quick cutting technique that so many felt they had to...

Re: Alec Baldwin accidentally kills crew member with prop gun

What I don't understand is, what's the point of loading a pistol with dummy rounds, when the camera cannot see through a gun? Since the audience is just going to see the outside anyway, they won't...

Re: Stu Presents, Men & Women Of Action: When Genre & Gender Collide!

Are a lot of people who are into this idea of female action movies being a new thing, of the younger generation? For example, my gf is 21, and she hasn't seen a lot of movies before about 2005 and...
