Re: Holiday Movie Hall of Fame

That is definitely the correct top 3, could have come up in any order and I would have been happy! The three films which came to mind when I thought about nominations.

Re: Holiday Movie Hall of Fame

Rise of the Guardians was pretty good, but didn't say 'Christmas' as much as the movies which will be the top 3.

For a moment I thought this was going to go in the same order as my list... but I had Home Alone a place higher.

Rise of the Guardians

I liked the character design in this, especially Jack Frost and North. The voice acting was good.

I think this was a good kids' film in that it isn't too goofy and silly...

I don't mean I watched it looking to find things to criticise in a negative way - more that I watched with a view to having something coherent to say about it here and to be able to compare and rank...

Re: Holiday Movie Hall of Fame

The Family Man

One of those 'what if' movies, with a bit of an 'It's a Wonderful Life' flavour.

What was interesting about this was that he's not actually a bad person before the switch - a...

The Muppet Christmas Carol

This film has been part of my Christmas for so long, it's hard to separate the film from the nostalgia. I tried to watch it with a bit more of a critical eye this time,...

Re: Holiday Movie Hall of Fame

Sorry, I'd hoped to be done by Christmas but it didn't happen. I've got one more film to watch, just need to write up the other ones I have seen which should be done soon.

Re: Holiday Movie Hall of Fame

Home Alone

My first impression: good grief the decor is dated! What was it about the early nineties and florals?

It's been a few years since I last watched this, and I'm pretty sure that was my...

Re: Holiday Movie Hall of Fame

Another one not on the line-up, I watched the 2009 Jim Carrey animated A Christmas Carol today. What a load of rubbish. Why did they feel the need to add in creepy horror-y shape-changing ghosts and...

Not one of the nominated films, but I watched Christmas Chronicles 2 last night. For what it is, I enjoyed it. My 9 year old enjoyed it too. I think there is a message in there for grumpy teenagers...
