Haven TV Movie 2001 (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0250862/?ref_=kw_li_tt) is close to that timeframe, and was on TV, so it might be 'safe' enough to show in class.

I know this may not help in the end, but do list the other two movies that you were shown. That may help us see what types of movies he picked.
