Here's an example of the more, shall we say up to date, 3-D glasses...

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

When my wife and I went, we kept ours. They fold and are much like regular glasses. They're handy just in case there's another 3D television show or commercial around Super Bowl time.

Luckily,...

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

cliffdodger, I'm a little confused by your post. Are you not familiar with the fact that movies are being released on DVD that are 3-D? Journey to the Center of the Earth is a good example.

So,...

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

I just now read this and that's pretty much what I took away from it. With Pixar, they're always raising the bar higher with every picture, story AND animation wise. With Dreamworks, it seems like...

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

I didn't have to deal with little brothers, but I know the pain of losing those paper glasses. It's not like you could go to the store and pick up a new pair. They were far from readily available. ...

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

Ah yes...someone else who knows what I'm talking about! Anyone remember Fly Me To The Moon 3-D? Exactly. This came out last year as purely a 3-D vehicle. If the movie has no substance and is in...

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

I'll agree with you on that aspect, honeykid. Yes, if uptake is good, the box office takings WILL increase.

However, until the economy is flipped back on track, I would imagine that most people...

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

You raise a good point, but in these times, if my kid were old enough to want one or the other, I wouldn't hesitate at all to say 2-D is good enough. Plus, here in Omaha, there's only one theatre...

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

Another problem with 3-D is mentioned in your post rufnek. With 15-20% of theatres capable of showing films in 3-D, why is there such a push for them at this present time?

Clearly, the better...

You'd at least hope that the "big finish" wasn't facing the camera. :D

Re: If it's 3-D, will they come?

Couldn't agree more. The whole gimmick of 3-D, if used appropriately, should make the film that more enjoyable. Simply releasing a movie in 3-D to get some people to watch a flick with corny...
