No surprise at Parasite being among them. It’s really their award to lose.
Any thoughts on these films for those who have seen them?

Not yet, but documentary short list is always a great category for recommendations.

Parasite - likely going to run away with a nomination.

Documentary -
Apollo 11 - I'd be surprised if this gets nomination, it lacks a narrative and really only works on IMAX but it's visually spell binding.

Maiden - I saw it, typical SJW film-making oh look women are just as good as men. Predictable and glossy I didn't care for it,

Yeah, I only got into documentaries this past year sadly, as I wanted to expand my film experience some and I’ve read a lot of great reviews concerning them on Ebert's page.

I’ve found about 6 or 7 past short lists tha I’ve written down for future viewing as well as various ones I’ve heard of over the years.

I would be very upset if Won't You Be My Neighbor? isn't nominated in the feature length documentary category, a category I usually don't care about, but I LOVED this film, I rated it
. Two other MoFos reviewed it and gave it the same rating, Here's a link to my review:

Won't You Be My Neighbor? was released and NOT nominated for Best Documentary.in 2018, even if I would have personally nominated it for Best Picture.
