A little nod to the Hulk being in the trailer running, but in the actual movie Banner was in the HulkBuster suit.

There's plenty of fan theories on YouTube., some of which are pretty wild. Fascinating how much discussion infinity War has generated. I'm pumped!

I'll bet that's completely by design, given how the two are likely to play into one another.

Anyway, trailer looks good. Pretty excited.

Cute that they're still hiding all the driftaways, even though most of us have spent the whole time since release trying to figure out how they're going to erase their erasures.

I mean, it’s hardly a teaser. Could’a just released some title reveal graphic on twitter but Marvel knows they can flex on us and here it is.

i mean, his new look is clearly based off of his comics persona ronin, a mantle which he took up after an event that similarly fractured the avengers and one can infer that this drastic change could have been inspired by some or all his family being affected by the snap *pushes glasses up*

I believe Hawkeye will be known as Ronin for Endgame. In the comics, Clint Barton becomes Ronin after the Civil War angle but would eventually return to the Hawkeye moniker.

Looking at the trailer again... the scene between Black Widow and Cap talking, Widow looks like the old version of Widow, and a CGI'd young version of Cap.
Then at the end when Ant Man shows up, it looks like old Widow and old Cap.

Re: Avengers: Endgame

That's an interesting thought. The beard thing fits with trying to make him look younger...if they knew they were going to do that (some kind of time jump thing) it'd make sense to have him grow it out to amplify the difference.

I'm still pretty wary about a post-Endgame MCU. Obviously they've earned a lot of trust and goodwill here, but it seems obvious that even if they roll back a lot of what happened in Infinity War, they'll have to make some irrevocable changes and get us interested in some new heroes and/or actors (I trust it'll be more the former than the latter). I'm curious about whether they can pull that off.

Saunch 12-07-18 05:43 PM

The promise of irrevocable death is still there. Stronger in this one, maybe. Aside from Spider-Man, the post-Endgame entries are all prequels of sorts, no?

Yoda 12-07-18 06:11 PM

Re: Avengers: Endgame

I think so. I'm still weirded out that they're apparently willing to have one that isn't, since that gives some of the game away, potentially. But maybe they're already realistic about that.

But yeah, I simultaneously assume a) the deaths aren't real, but b) a few will stick, or happen "again."

The Teaser has to be Gloomey cause they cant really show Captain Marvel yet because of her movie so figure a final trailer will have her in it much like Thor Ragnarok and Avengers Infinity War situation.

Its starts Gloomy with Ant Man at then end likely as some uplifting hope. Because by the trailer Ant Man aka Scott seems very important having likely survived the Snap because of the Quantum Realm.

Siddon 12-08-18 04:03 AM

Infinity War was really about telling multiple stories spread throughout a 3 hour movie, this one I think is going to tell one story so I believe we only saw scenes from the first half hour.

To me this is more of a "teaser" than anything else. What's the big takeaway? Alternate road jerseys?

gandalf26 03-15-19 11:46 AM

I think there's virtually no chance of this being as good as Infinity War, part of that films strength was the newer characters getting what seemed like more screentime and the older crew on the back burner a little. Endgame is going to be a last hurrah for several, I reckon Iron Man, Widow and Cap are going down + Col Rhodes maybe. Think they keep Thor around cause he's basically Superman. I don't think we're seeing much at all of the characters that died until the end when things will be put right again with some Quantum realm, time trace Dues Ex plot device. Standing by Hulk going berserk when Widow dies and defeating Thanos prediction.

I was majorly wrong about Infinity War though so hopefully they come up with a solid conclusion to what's been a well tied in great(mostly) series of movies.

This would be something I buy. My interpretation from what I've read and been told by comic fans in the know, Hulk's power is basically limitless. He gets mad, gets stronger, gets mad, gets stronger. Granted he hasn't been portrayed like this in the MCU, but it is too strong a part of the mythos to remove while watching a movie. The lack of him "leveling-up" makes the character seem broken.

It seems too avant garde but... (Not seeing CM yet.) CM is toe-to-toe with Thanos, holding her own. Then Thanos starts working her over, everyone is shocked, she was the the last hope. Cue Hulk, dealing with all the "confidence" issues he had, going full Goku, literally disintegrates Thanos from brute force.

All this Hulk being in his own head doesn't really serve the story if he doesn't get a redemption.

Re: Avengers: Endgame

I kind of dread the idea of Nebula being the sacrifice that tips the balance in the Avengers’ favor but that's what I’m feeling will happen.

Dread because of the outright cruel treatment of the character in Infinity War and the fact that Gamora’s already been “sacrificed” and clearly having one or both, by some Glove f***ery, live is the correct way for them to beat an embodiment of death.

I guess it can still be changed. I’ve seen this before where it was changed around release time. Last time was Fast 7 or 8, where IMDb and other sites said it was 2 hours 40. But it ended up being like 2h 17m.

But all this does make it at least 75-80% of being the actual runtime... so yeah.

You've got three films longer (Superman, Superman V Batman, and Watchmen) You've also got debatable non-comic super hero films like Lord of the Rings and The Green Mile which could be argued as Super Hero films. They could certainly be deconstructed as such.

So you likely want to add a qualified...longest MCU film, longest theatrical release of a comic book movie

Or perhaps you could just use your logical thinking like everyone else clearly did and realize it’s a given that I mean theatrically released versions and not some exclusive straight to dvd or digital style cut. C’mon get real.

And Lord of the Rings being superhero films? Okay, I’ll just stop here. You are clearly trolling so feeding time over.

They built up Black Panther only to dust him the very next movie, so that idea has form.

I'm kind of on the side of not letting Captain Marvel be the one to beat Thanos. Not because she's a woman, but because it's a little bit deus ex machina having the avengers lose in Infinity War only to call in a brand new superhero to save the day. If this is the climax of the story of the original avengers, I'd like them to end on a victory at whatever cost for and by themselves, rather than the day being saved by the new girl.

As mentioned in the shoutbox: vital moments of Avengers: Endgame have apparently leaked online.

So, try to stay clear of social media (at least try to be cautious), and stay alert. In this age of the internet, spoilers tend to get thrown around either by accident or purposefully in order to ruin the movie for others.

gandalf26 04-20-19 08:36 AM

Does anyone think this will be better than Infinity War or even just as good?

Infinity War is the best comic book movie imo after Dark Knight trilogy.

Not saying it won't be really good but to equal or better Infinity seems a daunting task.

I think it will be about equal with the caveat that I don't consider Infinity War to be one of the best superhero movies ever.

I put much of IW success down to newer characters getting lots of screen time, Thanos, children of Thanos, Guardians, Spiderman, Dr Strange.

The problem with Endgame will be all of the above are dead (to start with), and I'm assuming we'll get a lot less Thanos as he doesn't appear to have anyone to interact with other than Avengers.

We're basically back at Avengers Assemble, with Captain Marvel and Antman being relied upon to spice things up. (Gomorrah and Rocket too).

I have a question, guys.
As someone who's just seen Infinity War (where I felt out of the loop so many times) and Captain Marvel (mainly for my love for Brie Larson) and wants to enjoy Endgame (I've already bought my tickets for it), which movies should I watch and in what order? I'm certainly not gonna watch all those 22 movies. Any suggestions?

Watching Infinity War without having watched the other movies is like watching a third act to a movie... it doesn’t work on its own.

At this point in the Marvel franchise, you simply have to see everything leading up to it. Endgame is the end to everything that came before it. This is not a stand-alone movie. It’s like a sequel to every Marvel movie before it.

So yeah, you should have started earlier. But since you haven’t, well... no one knows what’s gonna happen in Endgame... I would say having watched Infinity War (and hopefully all the other Avengers movies, you should be okay). But you definitely won’t get the full experience of Endgame..

This might help if you want to watch least number of movies. Watch in this order
1) Iron Man 1
2) Avengers 1
3) Avengers Age of Ultron
4) Captain America Civil War
5) Thor Ragnarok

If you have more time, then follow this order.
1) Iron Man 1
2) Captain America 1
3) Thor 1
4) Avengers 1
5) Avengers Age of Ultron
6) Dr. Strange
7) Captain America Civil War
8) Thor Ragnarok
9) Black Panther
