Saving Private Ryan is definitely more entertaining.

The Thin Red Line is more mesmerizing as a movie experience though.

Saving Private Ryan is better than Thin Red Line by a pretty good margin. A closer comparison would be Saving Private Ryan vs Platoon.

But all of them bow before Apocalypse Now.

The Thin Red Line by a mile. Not a fan of Saving Private Ryan and i think The Thin Red Line is one of the best films of the 1990's.

War movies walk a thin line between Saving Private Ryan and The Thin Red Line, and they always fall on The Thin Red Line.

I think this all depends on how you approach each film.

They are both well done imho.

Haven't seen it in about five years so i can't go into specifics. Just don't enjoy it outside of the great landing at Omaha scene.

I really like them both so it's hard to pick. I like SPR for the story, but I prefer TTRL for the atmosphere, cinematography, music and tone. I guess I'll go with SPR for story.
