Me, an idiot: lol what's Mike doing starting Meyer against the Braves.
Nobody knows anything.
It's funny, because I almost sat him, but then I recalled something you said years ago.
"I usually run all my guys out at the beginning of the season to see how they are playing, then start playing matchups a bit later in the year."
I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea. Actually, you gave me the idea. ;)
Oh, and Bradford to the IL. I just have to laugh at this point.

It's early, but yeah my team is just bad.
Thinking of changing my team name to Cowser's Castle... ;)
Pfft! I can already see Im falling into my old ways. Having a waiver wire outfield has triggered an idiocy relapse. Sigh. I'd love to type "I'll just wait and see" but by the time anyone gets to read this post I'll probably have made 5 more moves.

Kwan or Carter can be had on my team if there's something that matches to trade with.

If anybody needs a catcher upgrade, I have Gabriel Moreno to move, for a modest starting pitcher. Inquire within!
"Marlins optioned RHP Max Meyer to Triple-A Jacksonville."
Getting hilarious now!
I figured the way he has been pitching, he would at least get a few more starts...

I’ve read Yelich is likely to go as well due to his back I think?
Yeah, who knows, they haven't done it yet which at least means it's borderline. There's a report that said they'll decide one way or another tomorrow. Losing two guys at the same time is rough, even rougher if they play the same position, even rougher when they're both starting off scalding hot. But an IL stint offers a little bit of relief compared to the holding pattern of having someone DTD for several days, at least.
It's a long season, thank goodness.

Yeah that was just wrong. I'm autodrafting football next year purely out of defeat. I don't know how Yoda and Spaulding do it year in and year out. Hopefully this way I'll just relax and have more fun.
Willing to move O'Neil Cruz for an Outfielder with as much potential, but not showing it yet.
Thinking back to the sunny days of wondering why I had too many 3B on my roster...
Now rostering some goon on the Mets.

2 trades to shake up things today.
I'm not sure how everything will go overall but needed to roll the dice a bit. This setup wasn't gonna work.

I love when I slot in 2 hot prospects and daydream about Trea Turners first year being called up. That daydream has yet to repeat itself, but the daydream surely will.

I see and read things but nothing is registering. A lot of times I'm just staring at the screen. This doesn't mean I won't do trades it's just that I'm going to be erratic while I wrap my head around what's going on in life. If things get worse I'll ask Yoda to try and replace me but I hope it doesn't come to that.

It's tough when we are all taking so many blows with injuries etc., but I feel this also. It seems like so much has happened already. I think it's fine to toss dudes who were borderline to begin with at this point if they have been completely terrible, or if you watch enough highlights and decide they kind of suck at baseball. Obviously, stick with guys with proven skills, even if they are slumping. They will be fine.

You basically summed up roto perfectly. It's that feeling, but for six straight months. ;)
Yeah I had to drop Eduard Rodriguez. He was put on the 60 day IL list, and they feel he'll be gone even longer. I got to make room for other players that could get hurt. How morbid.
Already regretting my no move no trade for a month plan. Ill sleep on it. Maybe.
If anyone is in need of a SP. No one off the table for an equal value bat.
Not that I lost money betting on myself with this, but Im open to trades & scouring waivers. Id be embarrassed but I didnt think Id be able to pull it off when I was typing it either. The seasons too young for such drastic measures! :)
I wish Charlie Kauffman was a mofo. He could write an amazing script on the existential angst Tongo goes through in one season of fantasy baseball. The name of the movie would definitely be Chasing Yoda.

Edit: just checked the score. Darn it, Maeda!
Well, I slotted in Jesse Winker. I feel like I'm giving him a reacharound for burning me a couple years ago when I drafted him, and he did NOTHING, AT ALL, FOR LIKE 2 SEASONS. Anyway, I hope to ride the streak and then show him the curb, Connor Joe style. (I really can't get over that guys name lol)
We should change our name to The Crying Game. All we do when we come into this thread is just cry :bawling:
I'll help you feel better: it's fine not to put a lot of thought into which guys you churn through on off days. It's not worth dropping guys you're going to keep playing for at least a few weeks beyond the off day, but if you've got a spot or two with relatively disposable dudes you're really just looking for marginal improvements. It's like going all-in with a hand that's a 60% favorite, you expect to lose a bunch of them, it's very random in any individual instance, you just try to get small edges each time and hope it adds up over months.
Have we discussed perhaps adding an NA slot in the past?

Not sure. I assume the idea would be that it'd kind of be a "minor league" spot in practice? I'd be good with that.
I kinda wanna float some very minor category tweaks next season, too.

Decided to bench newly acquired Evan Carter, and Jarren Duran, and go full-tilt with my waiver outfield. Behold! - Jesse Winker, Jonatan Clase, and Andy Pages. 4,861. That's the total of their preseason rankings combined. I need home runs and ribbies, these guys are known to do so. In AAA, but thats better than proven ho-hummedness.

Darvish to the IL, quite suddenly. Wasn’t aware he had an issue. Kicked Maeda out. Decided against Manaea starting because he has the Dodgers and I’m not that stupid.
Of course, he’ll now throw a perfect game with 10+ k’s and a QS to leave me with egg on my face.

Just Goldy in the corner thinking about his inactions for me at this point. I presume he will wake up a bit once it gets a bit warmer.
Just Goldy in the corner thinking about his inactions for me at this point. I presume he will wake up a bit once it gets a bit warmer.
I've got him in my other league, and it's been brutal, yeah.
A little downgrade is reasonable at his age but yikes.
Of course as soon as I say that I realize it's April 20th.
And all the experts were saying before the season started Goldy would be a great pick in the draft for his round. I woulda grabbed him if I couldn't get Matt Olson. It's a shame because he was a stalwart for many years, and then I remember Pujols. Goldy may still rebound, or not, who knows?
On the flipside, who saw Tyler O'Neil coming? Michael Conforto? Who knew?! You never can tell when these guys will decide to start putting it together, in some cases again. I remember the year Acuna came back from his ACL injury he was Meh. Then he became better than he ever was.
I think everyone thought Goldschmidt was winding down a few years ago, but then he exploded and actually took a step forward, at like 33 or 34 or whatever it was. But maybe it's happening now. Who knows.
Re: O'Neill. I nabbed him in my other league, he was a sleeper target for me in both, but I just missed him in this one. His numbers looked good down the stretch last year and the move to Boston suits him. Just a health thing. So it's kind of funny how he DID get injured but it wasn't a pulled hamstring or a shoulder problem, just a collision with an infielder. Hopefully he's okay, because he was having a great year before that.
I think you're right to tie it all to health, though. I think a lot of solid hitters look lost for a year or two because they have a shoulder problem that hasn't healed all the way, or which messed with their swing or whatever, and sometimes it just takes them awhile to figure it out. Lot of guessing there, especially because guys are not often forthcoming about the reasons for their struggles. Sometimes it seems like they regard it as an excuse and don't want to make excuses for their performance, even.
Motion to add 24 more IL slots. Thanks.

If anyone wants Oneil Cruz he's all yours. Dropped him to waivers. I'm not gonna deal with a player that can't maintain at least a mendoza line, or even a normal walk rate in his off days. Especially in a roto league.

Not to be an ass, but I kind of find it funny in a roundabout way when we expect players who are sons of players who were very good to just automatically be good as well. Seems like that isn't the case nearly as much as it used to be.
I know "baseball people," like the guys running teams and stuff, do consider that a plus, which I think makes sense. It probably screens a few things out right away: less likely to be super injury-prone, likely to have a good "makeup," as they say. More likely to understand how to adjust what they do over time, etc. So many variables and stop someone from being a productive player, so I think they like being able to mostly eliminate even a few of 'em.
Has there been another season where starting pitchers that are either the best so far for a team, or close to it, keep getting sent down or moved to the bullpen? I don't recall a situation like this is the past...

There's been a consistent overprecautioning occurring. Watching Coach Cash pull Blake Snell from a no hitter during a game in the world series...and that wasn't the first time he pulled a pitcher from a no-no, ask Nathan Eovaldi. Both pitchers left the team immediately in the offseason. Joe Maddon wouldn't have done that.
I dont even know if it helps or not preventing injury, lengthening careers, or ...God knows what? I just don't see the sense in it other than management saying they have to play the regular guy over the better guy cause the regular has the big $ contract. Augh. Just augh.

That's the specific case here. Spencer Turnbull is getting one more start, after which Walker will take his spot in the rotation, as he is a big money guy for the Phillies. After Walker returns, Turnbull will head to the pen. Not sure why he is a big money guy:
"Walker (shoulder) struck out one and allowed four earned runs on seven hits and three walks over 6.1 innings in the third start of his rehab assignment Sunday with Triple-A Lehigh Valley."
I have never been a fan, myself.

I just don't have room for the guy, or I might have given him a shot. I am set at SS and he doesn't have any other eligibility. I could put him in Util, but I think I have better options there. Surely someone needs a SS...
Well Chris was right, Tim snatched him up. Good for him

Pitchers are getting injured at an alarming rate. ESPN did a recent article on it
Nothing worse in fantasy baseball than giving that SP you have been thinking about kicking one more start and smack.
Nothing worse in fantasy baseball than giving that SP you have been thinking about kicking one more start and smack.
Well you have pitching points to spare at least. Justin Steele may be coming back for me sooonish. Ozzie Albies possibly even Friday.
Want to talk about pitching? With Fairbanks out you'd know that Jason Adam would get the nod. He split saves with Fairbanks all last season. Hell no, instead they had Adam pitch the 8th and Garret "Who?" Cleavinger closed the game. Baseball team managers hate Fantasy Baseball, and Coach Cash must be leading the charge.
If there's one thing Rays fans should know by now, it's that they don't utilize their bullpen in a predictable or traditional way. Which has mostly been to their credit, as a baseball team, even if it can be maddening for fantasy teams. Kinda like running back committees in football.
Not only is this a totally bizarre year for both and injuries and nutty management of SP, but it seems the umpire's union is on the warpath, so we have a sort of cold war rebellion going on, with umps straight up trolling players and managers this season. My 1st round pick stuck out looking the other night during an at-bat that had seen 6 balls and 0 strikes thrown. The Yankees Aaron Boone was ejected from a game because a fan yelled at the umpire. A Red Sox pitcher got nailed for a balk when no one on this planet other than the umpire could find any evidence of one.
Weird season so far!
Also: Anyone running arms out of the Phillies bullpen this season is a straight up clown.
*Checks roster*
Whoops! ;)

Oh I know. I actually picked up Clevinger a few days ago when Fairbanks went out. Then I thought "Nah! Not this time. I could use that roster spot for (God knows who)", and dropped him. Sure enough he sent Cleavinger out.
Ok lets try something positive - Who is the most underappreciated guy on your roster? No this is not a scam to hype someone I want to trade. Just some guys deserving credit theyve never gotten from us.
Mine would easily be Justin Turner. Even though he finished 69th overall in 2023, and 117th in 2022, even though he's eligible at 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and as of now is 98th overall, AND batting cleanup for the Blue Jay's, he just gets no respect. It must be his age, or his big ginger beard, I don't know. Honestly even when he was younger I don't remember alot of hype surrounding him. I could be wrong.
I do know he's been a steady earner for me, and helped stop the bleeding when Albies went down, and Bregmans slump. Solid dude.
Easy one: Daniel Hudson
One of my favorite holds guys. He's given up a couple of long balls this season, but has been otherwise lights out, has 14 K in 11 IP, and a WHIP of 0.73.
5 Holds so far.
Dude should continue to be a big help as long as he stays healthy.

Ozzie Albies coming back from the IL.
Jorge Solers bat seems to have cooled again, and maybe Michael Busch's os starting to. Trevor Larnach and Pete Crow Armstrong hopefully will be able to pick things up some. I would say Im in Wait and See mode but usually saying that results in 20 more moves and trades. So Ill say im in Move and Trade mode.
You maniacs are trading like crazy this year. The most ever, probably. We'll see how it shakes out at year's end.
I don’t think I traded once last year. Felt like this year I was taking my second option every round of the draft, so tweaking is in order.

Dear Team,
Do something.
Sincerely,
A Frustrated Owner
My TEX pitcher, who was due back from the IL "sometime around May 7th," suddenly has a fractured rib, as of today.
Because of course he does!
Now it will be at least another month, and by that time "it seems unlikely that there will be a spot for him in the Rangers’ rotation if everyone else is able to stay healthy."
Luckily, this is 2024, so by the end of that month of rest I am sure the entire TEX staff will be in traction.
Dropping anyway. I need the IL space.

Well I basically gave Cedric Mullins away for free. Just dropped Jorge Soler for Jake Fraley. Got Varsho for homers, and needed some high AVG and speed to replace Duran Duran. All these guys are people I got on waivers, except Fraley who I actually drafted. So there.
Total amount of players still on my team from the draft is 9. That includes Fraley. ... Boy I really hope I do good this year!

My team name is more ferocious than I thought. Reading about the history of the Quidditch World Cup and came across this sentence: "Nenad was not prosecuted as he had been killed early on by a particularly violent spruce."
And this is completely irrelevant, but, ‘no dragon is to be introduced into the stadium for any purpose including, but not limited to, team mascot, coach or cup warmer.’
Reminds me of the song "A boy named Sue"
I'm watching Moneyball for like the dozenth time right now. Just mesmerizing, I love this film. They should make a similar behind the scenes flick when Boston finally broke the curse of the Bambino, which they mentioned right before the end credits. The formula portion has already been explained, but I'm sure they had some doubts and drama leading up to it. Actually screw that, they need to make a film how the Rays became as good as the big money clubs in the A.L. Beast. Yeah you were probably gonna rep this post until I wrote that last part ;)
The Red Sox just slaughtered the Cubs today 17-0. Ouch!

Correa back today. Bradish is due back this week and perhaps what I’m most excited about, if he indeed has recovered enough to be effective.
After the Phillies manager watched Walker serve up a plate of meatballs over the weekend, it appears he is going to send Turnbull out for another start. I will continue to send him out there as long as I am able. After that, hey, maybe he starts piling up holds, who knows.
Yeah I cut loose Dalton Varsho, another one I just got in a trade. Dont trust he will hit for Avg or OBP, nor could I with Jorge Soler either. Jarren Duran wasn't much to give away as I just picked up a kid so dopd he steals more bases against lefties than righties, and so far 100% overall in attempts.
Dropped Michael King too. I wanted him to work out, I really did. At this point I just don't think he has what it takes to be a starter long term. Maybe a spot start here or there, wont be surprised they make him a reliever again.
Kimbrel might be out, sigh. I woulda picked Yenier Cano back up again but just assumed he had already been nabbed when i dropped him week or two ago. Realized he hadn't been when Yoda got him this morning. That's just awesome lol
0/23 Not sure I have ever had a .000 BA in a day. Not exactly a benchmark I was looking to hit, Ugh

Many pitchers threw great games yesterday. My team went 3/25 :indifferent:
I dont feel so bad about my low 200s avg from last night now.
Above post I made made it sound like the kid I was talking about was "dopd". I meant "good", damn phone didn't do an auto correct, but to make up for it will do it when it shouldn't I'm sure.
Anyway his name's Jacob Young and he stole 2 more bases last night, yay. He hits for a high avg too and has 12 steals with only 64 at bats. That's impressive. Reminds me of a player many years ago named Jason Bourgeois. Hopefully he won't end up like him. Nice to have good news finally.
Matt Olsons metrics are solid, just the output is missing. The only thing to do is wait which is fine . Andy Pages got me 3 rbis last night, love them waiver guys earning. Seth Lugo may have taken the most underappreciated award from Justin Turner. Got him off waivers and he's even outperforming Peralta.
It's been a interesting April. Bizarre, bloody, and slumpy. Hopefully players going on the IL will slow down, especially pitchers.

Pitching really bumped my score up. Of course, pitching has really been my highlight of the season so far.

Reminds me of the time, about 15 years ago, my brother and I had to exterminate a huge wasp nest (the size of a bee hive) at her mail box. The mail man wouldn’t deliver anymore until it was taken care of, and rather than hire an exterminator, we came armed with several cans or raid that we sprayed directly into the entrance.
They dropped near instantly, upon exiting
I got a car one time that was sitting in the owners garage so long when I opened it 2 wasps like bullets went into my chest bouncing off from the impact. They had built a nest on the inside of the door. I had to war with wasps until one of us was dead. Thankfully I had weaponry.
Damn bees. So far on top of not getting Ohtanis and Pages production, Brewers/Rays - the umpires ejected Freddy Peralta with no warning for hitting Jose Siri on a 3-0 count. (5.1 innings pitched) Manager was so rightfully pissed for Milwaukee he got into the umps face and was tossed too. This just pissed the Brewers off enough so much they trounced us 8-2. Maddon used to do that with umps and get deliberately tossed just to light a fire under the Rays ass. I fear its gonna be a long season for Tampa this year.
The Bee Guy/Exterminator when coming onto the field got a standing ovation, and was allowed to throw the first pitch of the game. The game is on!

If anyone was curious about this, if you have a reliever pitch 0.1 innings total, and he gives up a grand slam, the ERA is 108.00, and your Whip is 12.00
Starving for home runs is a bad place to be. Of course I need everything but my biggest weakness are HRs. With Olson, Busch, Ohtani, and some guys that are good for at least 20 this season I'd think I'd see them more regularly. Not so much.

I have just picked up Manoah, so I should be able to beat this in the next couple of weeks! ;)
I have Cruz in my other league, and yeah, oof. But it sounds worse than it is. Just means four runs. Four runs x three outs x nine innings = 108.

God I hate slumps. What's worse is benching the premiere slumping player because if he suddenly breaks out of his slump in major fashion then I'd miss out on that breakout day. Doh'! Back and forth I go. Screw it im gonna play them. Maybe the upside offsets the wounds.
The solution is to realize that almost all "slumps" and "hot streaks" are illusions. ;) Not even worth benching or starting people for, nevermind dropping or picking up or what have you.

Fun league history Sedai probably won't mind me sharing: his team used to be called something else. The first day of his first year of playing roto one of his pitchers had a crappy outing and his team ERA was 108.00 and he thought he was screwed for the whole year. Then I explained the same thing he just explained and he changed his team name to the Clueless Clowns, and kept it for years.
Is that still his team name? Have I been Sedai's alt all this time?

My team was mashing in April, but the injuries and some mini-slumps have me team whiffing like crazy. Let's hope it all turns around!
This happened to me last year, I was surging, and then still waters. Slumps, coming back down to earth for others, and some going on the mend.
Like last year the worst player on my team this year is my first round draft pick. 2023 it was Trea Turner, and now it's Matt Olson. Just bizarre. I held onto Trea even past the all-star break before trading him for Scherzer, and eventually he reemerged. With Olson, well ill just decide not to make a decision cause I'd go back on it anyway. Especially if I post it online.
I still need a shortstop guys. If anyones got a spare that's a sound earner, and should be going forward, please let me know.
Turner and Olsen are elite talent - you just have to trust them to start producing. Turner was hitting .343 with 10 steals already this season. Bummer he got hurt.
Turner's interesting, looks like he may have fallen off a cliff there for a bit. It seems like he won't quite be the guy he was, I think the power's probably not coming all the way back, but it's come back somewhat and the OBP and steals are there again, so he's still very good. If not for the injury, clearly a bargain with that draft day discount.

I was wondering about that... with all the contact he has been making, why his hits seem to have a totally different trajectory now. Weird how little changes in mechanics affect things so much.
It's possible within the next month I'll get Yelich, Suzuki, Woo, Musgrove, and Senga off the IL. That's like an entire core of a decent roto team all by itself. Here's hoping.

I get it. I've even had Olson on the pine for some games, but slotting him in today. At least you have Taj Bradley coming back to replace Pepiot whose going on the IL.
Also you ended up being right about Busch. Until yesterday Rojas had overtaken his season totals with less at bats. Busch is a righty only hitter, a 3B Brandon Marsh.

I think my catcher is still one of my top players so far. I think ya'll know how I feel about catchers in general. In fact over the years I've run with no catcher from time to time because that position can be such a void for talent. So its wonderful to have my catcher be one of my best this year. Really explains why I'm dead last and if things don't perk up, I may remain there for the foreseeable future. But yay me. Do I have the best catcher in baseball? Oh goodie! Pfffft!

I don’t know if anyone remembers Sean Burroughs, who played for the Padres and Ray in the early 2000’s (the aughts). He passed away today at age 43 while coaching his sons Little League Game. That’s rough.
I had to look him up, but he’s a bit of a cautionary tale for rising young baseball stars
Decided not to pitch my new Mets hotshot Christian Scott until he gets by Atlanta tonight. I would have, but Ozzie & Olson both hit dingers last night. Hopefully a portent of good things to come.
Garret Crochet has the second most strikeouts in all of baseball only behind Glasnow. If he has corrected his control woes like the past 2 starts have shown...whoa, what a gemthrower.

Happy Paul Skenes Day!
So cool!
That was legitimately one of the funniest and most ridiculous games I've ever seen.
When they came back for like a two-hour rain delay and immediately walked the next dude on four pitches I burst out laughing. Totally genuine, uncontrollable laughter. I don't care how bad it is, that's objectively funny.
Hey at least you won. Skenes and Steele both weren't lights out by any means. I think it better Skenes gets this loss out of the way now as it should relieve the pressure and expectations put on him. Pitchers dominant in the first big league game isn't rare, and where are they now?
If anyone has a 3rd closer they'll part with for a fair sane trade I'm ready to deal as Kimbrel just got demoted.
I've got three of the top five closers in baseball and would love to move one for a hitter. Open offer to anyone. Gotta be a pretty good hitter though.
Oh, also willing to move a starter. I've got like seven guys who are #1s, #2s, or #3s, with a couple more coming back from the IL soon. Would gladly move any of them for a solid hitter, too. Or a top closer and a good starter for a very good hitter. Pitching for hitting, in basically any combination.
Since there has been alot of interest in Olson, Albies, and Ohtani I just need to reemphasize I cant afford to put them on the trading block unless it's a 'cant say no' offer comes along. I don't have any wiggle room with those 3, regardless of bad starts to the season.
I was really hoping the stars would align, with MLB putting the Pirates game up as the free game of the day the same day Chris went to the game, but it turned out to be the Blue Jays instead. I managed to catch both that game and the Diamondbacks game yesterday as I did stuff around the house/cooked etc.. Baseball was watched!
Another hint for the newer owners: Many times, you are the person that beats yourself, and sometimes this is by not doing something when the opportunity is there. I am still beating myself up for deciding to not pick a FA up two days ago. This guy would have helped me immensely. Oh well!

I'll add onto that, dropping the wrong guy can hurt worse. I had Jurickson Profar and Brice Turang on my roster at one time. Thought they were just streaking. Thought wrong.
Speaking of dropping the wrong guy, Andy Pages is available on waivers. I tried shopping him around pretty thoroughly to no avail, but with Ohtani possibly going on IL, and no wiggle slots left, hes now available.
My draft wasn't the best, and since hasn't been, though Ohtanis paid off. Patience and intuition aren't the same, but both are necessary, and I hardly have a black belt in either. It is fun though learning ;)
I am open to trading one of my starters, none are off the table, but just one. It has to be for an equivalent closer of batter. I'm not gonna shop any of them as all imo are strong.
That goes for my offense as well, even Ohtani, but the offer has to be fair. I value them as what they can do going forward, which can be game changing which is why I haven't shopped them either.

No one believing in Julio, including me. 😁 Here’s hoping he puts those huge numbers up and pulls me out of my shambles of a start so I can be like “I knew it”.

I believe in him, that why I offered you Albies & Peralta for him. Instead Yordan can join Olson in my "You can do it Billy!" club
Pretty sure we're utterly shattering the league record for trades.
Even though I need a closer Alexis Diaz sucks so bad I had to be rid of him.
Now I really need a closer, but one that does not suck.

Thank you for talking me down from the ledge ;
I've been trading like that character Mike Myers played on SNL, the hyperactive kid harnessed to the jungle gym. Well, I'm putting the chocolate down, no matter how tasty it is, and am going to stop shopping offers, at least for awhile. I will accept them though cause I really do need a closer.
I mean, "I just traded my closer oh no I need to trade for a closer now" is just inherently extremely funny.

Yeah but, Diaz's numbers are bad, so that doesn't count
Alas, outside of a few studs most closers are guys you tolerate ratio-wise in exchange for the Saves and a little bump in K rate.

My first of the year!

I guess, but after having to eat Kimbrels cooking this season I got to the point of wanting to go hungry rather than losing 2 categories for the occasional one. I just realized I'm arguing how to play Fantasy Baseball with a multi year champion. Ok ill shut up now.
Picked up 3 Reds to go tonight, and dropped them when I saw theyd be going against Tyler Glasnow. Yeah I think an empty slot would be safer.

Somebody made a comment underneath this video that when Maddux pitched the game would just be 2 hours. Correct me if I'm mistaken but I think the only pitcher since that pulled this off often was Clayton Kershaw.
When he retired Greg Maddux bought himself a dog. Poor dog still hasn't been walked.
Skenes struck out the first 7 batters he faced and is taking a no hitter into the 5th against the Cubbies. This is his 2nd MLB game ever. I know we're early in the season, but its really looking like The Year of the Adam.
He has 11 ks in 6 innings. Eleven Ks in six innings!
Wow. Luis Gil for the Yankees got 14 ks in 6 innings. Spencer Strider is probably writhing right now watching all this.
I think the crew I have now have the potential to get the job done. Now I've got to just leave them alone.
It's not lost on me that the guy who autodrafted is over 30 points ahead of me, and needs less than half of what I need to pass Adam. Never mistake movement for progress.
My apologies to everyone for so many moves and trades. Again. I pray I leave this way of playing Fantasy sports behind me for good, and not just because I aint worth a damn at it. Its just not normal.
Play ball!
