What does the final scene of S4 mean? The Lily of the valley pot in Walt's house, does it mean that he poisoned the kid? I don't dare to think of it...

OMG the music. Such a beautiful scene, but my fingers are tied. You will have to wait and see. No spoilers for you, my friend.:)

I am absolutely amazed you have never seen spoilers, El. They're all over social media, and were all over newspapers back when the show was airing. Well done remaining spoiler free.

Told ya, I live in a cave :D

I have watched several eps of S5, omg it was Walt with that lily of the valley...
He descended that path too quick. It shocks me a little bit. No wonder Skyler was afraid of him now. I think among all people in the show, Skyler was still the one who understood him the most, but a little bit too late. Perhaps Mike did now, too.

The scene of Jesse crying and regretting about "almost shoot" Walt broke my heart. Poor naive kid. His acting in that scene was stellar.
I also felt for Walter Junior. He's the most innocent one in this tragedy. When Walt skipped his 16th birthday party, he went to take care of Walt, only to see Walt crying over Jesse and even called his son "Jesse".

Amazingly, after the drug lord died, the show still kept its tension.

Oh no, Mike.
I didn't see that coming at all.

I'm in the middle of S5 but it feels like the end. When Walt could bring himself to threaten Skyler, and Skyler wanted her husband to have cancer back, when Walt risked Jesse's life under that freight train for several gallons of water, we know that the end is near.

The Star Trek script of Jesse's friend was hilarious. I would love to see that on screen.

Hilarious. I;m not a trekkie so had no idea what he was talking about but Badger was so funny.

Yes, at first I was annoyed with Badger and the fat guy (not skinny Pete, he's good), but now they are hilarious.

Walt, how can you be so careless that you leave that book with Gale Boeticker's script in your public WC? I guess you think you're an indestructible god now.

Combo was the other big guy. Badger and Pete get even better.

And there you go with Walt - his total arrogance was his downfall. What an idiot. He might be a genius but he's as dumb as a bag of dog poop.

Wow, the tape that Walt "confesses" is hilarious. He did learn Skyler's acting skills and even tears.
The look on Hank's face while watching: only then he truly understood who Walt was.

Isnt he a full blown bastard.

And then Hank finding out where the money came from to pay the medical bills. Ouch.

What!
Walt want to kill Jesse now? Guess the threat for his real family kicked in and he sacrificed his adopted son.
Now it's like Walt vs. everybody else. The sense of doom was drawing near, consequently the suspend diminished a little bit. Such a pity. I don't want this show to end.

I've had BreBa hangover and withdrawal for a few days, so that I couldn't even talk. How did it end so fast?!

Oh Hank. Couldn't have imagined you'd gone out like that.

The ending felt a little bit rushed, everything came crashing down, everybody turned against Walt, he made some clumsy moves himself that I didn't see in previous seasons.

While Walt is a devil, people around him were only contributing to push him further. Hank wanted him ruined by all means, not only for justice sense but also for revenge sense, to payback the ridiculous faith Hank had put on him. When Hank died, everybody automatically thought it was Walt's doing. No one care to listen to him, or to look into his other murders, to see the circumstances. When Skyler took a knife against him, his son ended up blaming him for "attacking" her. He might be bad, but he did love people in his own way, and he did try to protect Hank. I feel pity for him.

I'm so glad the final ep went out with a bang.

I still dont really get why Saul felt the need to disappear. I had a theory at one point but I've forgotten it. No one was left to knock him off, and there was no proof he was laundering for the 2 clowns was there? I guess because at that point the neo nazis were still around but did he know about them? I cant remember.

Through season 4. Much better than 3 for me but still doesn't come close to 1 or 2. I am really pleased I am doing this rewatch. I love the show, the characterrs are tremendous. Not sure how some of you can watch it so much though. Just way too plot heavy after season 2 for me to spend that much time with it.

I love Face Off. I was amazed at the tension it still held for me on a second viewing. I know Walt always wins but he really was a step behind very late into this series. His little temper tantrums every time he doesn't get his way is bothering me this time through. Jessie remains sympathetic but just so over matched in this world. He should be dead or arrested 100 times by now.

Gus is the greatest. That is all.

Really projecting my BCS viewing on that character. I love him this time around.

Think after season 5 I am going to watch Ozark. Noticed you were watching it but stayed out of the thread.

Ozark is great but very different to brBa. I was very careful about being spoilery as usual, and I think I numbered the episode each time I p[osted - will go check for you

I've only ever watched it all the way through once. Next time I get a week off work I have to start again. Excellent series.

I fell way behind in this. I'm going pretty fast now, but because of vacation I lost y'all...

Anyways, I'm nearing the end of season 3... just thought I'd give an update on my viewings. :)

No problem MoveMeditation.
I like watching you rewatching BreBa :D
The show is still fresh in my mind and I can remember all details.

I had 1 month of vacation too when I had just started the rewatch, but now I've caught up with you guys (and have a withdrawal, dang it).

Just saw the honest trailer of BreBa yesterday and they collected all the ways people could die in the show. Hilariously gore. Tortuga still win.

Bump! Alan Sepinwall, who's my go-to TV critic, has a book coming out called Breaking Bad 101, and there's an excerpt from it over on The Ringer (https://www.theringer.com/tv/2017/10/3/16381342/breaking-bad-walter-white-gus-fring-face-off-book) about the big (moderate spoilers for Season 4!) Walt/Gus showdown, and how it surprises some people in part because it represents a slight shift in the perspective the show has had up until that point (even though there was technically no reason to think it had to keep exactly the same perspective).

I really like the idea of implicating the viewer with it it, too, simultaneously allowing them to unabashedly cheer certain things, while reminding them afterwards of what's actually happening when you stop thinking about it in pure protagonist/antagonist terms.

Worth a read!

I particularly like something the excerpt only briefly touches on...

...the idea of the last vestiges of Walt's better angels metaphorically "dying" in Crawl Space, underground.
I'll have to rewatch some and think about it more, but I feel like this might be one of those ideas that makes even more sense the more you look into it.

Oh man, I've been rewatching parts of this because of Better Call Saul (and there are some wicked callbacks I never noticed!), and it got me inevitably rewatching my favorite parts of the whole series.

At this point I think the last five episodes of season 4 are the most compelling stretch of television I've ever seen. In order, they are (spoilers!):

Bug (Walt and Jesse physically fight)
Salud (Gus poisons the cartel)
Crawl Space (Walt cackles after discovering the money is gone)
End Times (Brock poisoned, first assassination attempt on Gus)
Face Off (ya 'know)

What an insane stretch. Every single episode ended in totally jaw-dropping fashion.
