(still not finished the character one, will start it again soon damn Expanse :D)
It's not my fault you guys don't watch good tv shows. ;)

jiraffejustin
01-15-17, 03:34 PM
I'll play along. I doubt I'll be able to watch anything that I haven't already seen though; my plate is full with all the halls I am participating in.

Camo
01-15-17, 03:36 PM
If we can get ten regular voters we'll go ahead with it, got three so far not sure if Cosmic was joining or not. And yeah JJ you don't have to watch anything if you don't want to.

CosmicRunaway
01-15-17, 03:40 PM
It depends on when you were planning on starting. I'd like to focus on the 12th HoF right now so I still have time to rewatch films and decide on a final ballot for the Sci-Fi Countdown (plus see a couple I've been meaning to watch for the first time).

I haven't actually seen many animated films, so I'd probably need time to watch most, if not all the nominations haha.

Camo
01-15-17, 03:48 PM
Well i was thinking of doing a 64 film tournament with 8 matches a week to give the people who want to watch some of them some time. So if we hypothetically started today that would mean the second round wouldn't start for a month which would be after the sci-fi countdown deadline. When would you want this to start? I have no problem waiting this was mostly to gauge interest.

CosmicRunaway
01-15-17, 03:59 PM
I have no idea. I think hours are getting lean at work so I might have more time than I'm currently anticipating.

I guess how many nominations we'd get each would also depend on how many people enter the tournament, right? Were you planning on having PM'd nominations like in the HoFs, or just post what we want in the thread like the other tournaments?

I might not even be able to come up with enough nominations to join.

Camo
01-15-17, 04:05 PM
Nah, just post your noms in the thread. I'd end up spending alot of time telling people somethings already been picked. I'm up for discussion on how many noms, i'd personally like it to be 64, think 128 would be too much and 32 not enough. If we got 10 people that would mean six would nominate 6 and four 7. You could be one of the ones that nominates six and if that's too much i'm sure some of the bigger animation fans would gladly take how ever many of your noms you didn't want. I mean i'm gonna try and get Miss Vicky to join and her top 100 is basically Quills, Gladiator and 98 Animated Films . I've seen and like quite a few animated films too so i'd be fine nominating more.

Miss Vicky
01-15-17, 04:31 PM
I mean i'm gonna try and get Miss Vicky to join and her top 100 is basically Quills, Gladiator and 98 Animated Films

I do believe the actual number will be 29 by the time I finish posting the new list. Well 29 and a half? There's a hybrid in there too.

Yeah, I'll join.

Camo
01-15-17, 04:37 PM
Great that's four then and i think Cosmic is a maybe. Glad you brought up hybrids actually. What does people think about stuff like Who Framed Roger Rabbit and Space Jam, allowed or not allowed? I'm really not bothered either way, i'm sure Space Jam would clean up if it was allowed :D

rauldc14
01-15-17, 04:41 PM
I don't care as this is more for fun then serious,

Miss Vicky
01-15-17, 04:42 PM
I won't nominate any hybrids, but it doesn't matter to me if others do.

Camo
01-15-17, 04:42 PM
I don't either, it was just in case anyone else did. I'm sure it was going to come up when i started taking nominations so we may as well decide now.

CiCi
01-15-17, 05:03 PM
I'd join!

Camo
01-15-17, 05:07 PM
Great! Glad to have you . So that's five and a maybe, we should be able to get four or five more.

Camo
01-15-17, 06:40 PM
Swan is a maybe, he's going to decide later. Mostly posting this so i can bump it in case someone who might want to join hasn't seen the thread.

Swan
01-15-17, 07:55 PM
So this is like the TV tournament right? I'll join, yeah.

jiraffejustin
01-15-17, 11:10 PM
Totally up to you, but I was thinking since WALL-E just won the animation hof, maybe it shouldn't be allowed in the tournament. Thoughts?

Miss Vicky
01-15-17, 11:16 PM
I'm fine with it being nominated.

rauldc14
01-15-17, 11:20 PM
I would let it in but doesn't matter to me either way.

jiraffejustin
01-15-17, 11:34 PM
I guess it would be interesting to see how it fares in a tournament format after dominating the hof it was in. I know I'd vote for it over a lot of other movies.

cricket
01-15-17, 11:35 PM
I don't dislike it but I'm not a fan.

Miss Vicky
01-15-17, 11:40 PM
I absolutely love it, top 3 Pixar and top 5 animation for me, and I don't think we should exclude any animated films.

cricket
01-15-17, 11:42 PM
We've never excluded HoF winners from tournaments so I don't think we should start now.

So, let's see who the lame ass is that nominates it.

gbgoodies
01-16-17, 02:51 AM
If this is still open, I'll join.

I'm okay with hybrids, as long as they're "real" hybrids, not just movies that are basically all live action with only 1 or 2 animated scenes.

And I'm okay with WALL-E being allowed in this, and I'll even let someone else nominate it this time. :)

Camo
01-16-17, 06:19 AM
gbg and Gatsby take us to 9  I'm going to ask Cosmic if she has decided because if she is in we can start nominating, if not we should be able to get someone else.

I get what you're saying JJ but i think WALL-E should be allowed. Remember that it was the only heavy hitter nominated in the Hall of Fame, the most universally loved after that was probably The Secret of Nimh and that's nowhere near as popular as WALL-E. It finished behind Toy Story, Up and Spirited Away in the Countdown so i don't think it is a sure thing at all that it will win.

Something i was thinking of was a rule that one person can only nominate say a maximum of two Pixars. Was just thinking that we are all expecting one to win, they might not but i think that's the most likely scenario and if the first person who nominates picked say the five biggest Pixars there's every chance that something like three of the final four could be theirs. Plus i don't know how everyone is with their Animated films here but it would probably make peoples nominations easier when 50 films or whatever have been picked because most have seen Pixar. If people don't agree with this it's cool, just a thought.

Chypmunk
01-16-17, 07:11 AM
I don't want to nominate stuff but I'd be happy to vote as and when I've actually watched both items in matches if you like?

Camo
01-16-17, 07:34 AM
Yeah Chyp, the people who don't nominate can vote when they want. It was just so we had a regular bunch that will always vote.

Camo
01-16-17, 07:45 AM
Once we get our tenth member i'll start taking nominations. We'll nominate 6 each then we can decide which four gets an extra nom or i'll randomize and go with whoever comes out or something. Since i'm a dick i'm going to use my hosting privileges to pick the first 6 myself :D. I've mixed up the six i'm picking though, went for a big one or two then some lesser loved ones.

CosmicRunaway
01-16-17, 11:23 AM
I can only think of like, 4 films to nominate (if no one else takes some of them first that is haha) so if you wanted to get 10 people with 6 nominations each and I'll just nominate 4, would that work better?

rauldc14
01-16-17, 11:30 AM
I've got some nominations ready when we can display them.

Camo
01-16-17, 11:51 AM
I can only think of like, 4 films to nominate (if no one else takes some of them first that is haha) so if you wanted to get 10 people with 6 nominations each and I'll just nominate 4, would that work better?

Yeah, no problem. If the others are okay with it i can hold your nominations since you haven't seen as much as most of us.

Camo
01-16-17, 02:56 PM
Okay, taking noms now. There's ten of us. Cosmic has already sent me her noms because she hasn't seen many animated films and i thought it would be best to give her the pick of the litter, i was being a gentleman guys i didn't even say anything when she picked one of my noms :D. Oh and i lied to her and said you guys said you were cool with it so blame me not her  I've also picked my six, after i post this i'll get the first ten noms up in the first post.

So Cosmic has four, and three of us will get 6, six of us will get 7. Since i picked one first i won't be one of the ones with an extra nom. So everyone post 6 noms right now and after we have them all i'll randomize the eight of you and see who gets the extra noms. The reason i'm not doing that right now is so the people (gbg i'm guessing) who nominate last have a bit more to pick from.

The only rule is that each person can only pick a maximum of two Pixars, i brought that up earlier and noone objected so we'll just go ahead with it. Hybrids are allowed but as gbg pointed out they have to have a fair amount of Animation, no majority live action films with a 5 minute animated sequence.

These are the ten picked already:

Wall-E - Camo
The Wrong Trousers - Camo
Bambi - Camo
The Great Mouse Detective - Camo
Perfect Blue - Camo
How To Train Your Dragon - Camo
Princess Mononoke - Cosmic
Sword in the Stone - Cosmic
Rock and Rule - Cosmic
Tokyo Godfathers - Cosmic

Thanks for letting me take one of your nominations without complaint.:up:

The four I picked are definitely my favourite animated films period. Well, 3 of them definitely are. I haven't seen Rock and Rule in a very long time, so if everyone hates that, I won't hold it against anyone haha.

I've been meaning to watch Fantastic Planet for the Sci-Fi Countdown, so it is convenient that it got nominated. Aladdin is one of my favourite Disney films as well

I don't think I've seen any of Cricket's nominations. I've heard a lot about Grave of the Fireflies though, and think it'll be something I like.

TONGO

Great start. 28/64 nominated. CiCi, Swan, JJ, Gatsby and gbg left to nominate. I'm guessing the latter two won't be til later tonight or tomorrow.

CosmicRunaway
01-16-17, 03:12 PM
Out of MV's nominations I've only seen Paprika, and I definitely need to watch it again because I remember very little about it.

I've at least heard of most of the films nominations so far haha. Wrinkles, and Ernest and Celestine are the only ones I haven't.

Camo
01-16-17, 03:13 PM
Just out of curiousity does anyone not want an extra nom? I mean does anyone feel they'd struggle to come up with one or anything once 58 films have been picked?

Swan
01-16-17, 03:15 PM
Lady and the Tramp
The Triplets of Belleville
Waltz with Bashir
Yellow Submarine
A Town Called Panic
Fritz the Cat

CosmicRunaway
01-16-17, 03:16 PM
I thought I mentioned this already, but apparently I haven't: Out of Camo's noms I haven't seen Perfect Blue (though I've seen parts of it), and I definitely would need to rewatch the Great Mouse Detective because I remember very little of that as well.

CosmicRunaway
01-16-17, 03:17 PM
Never heard of A Town Called Panic, but I've seen the first 3 Swan nominated . I know of Fritz the Cat, but I don't think I've seen it. Same for Yellow Submarine, except I know I haven't seen that one.

Can I get the extra nom?!?

Camo
01-16-17, 03:18 PM
I've seen 28/34.

Camo
01-16-17, 03:20 PM
Can I get the extra nom?!?

Six of the eight members that aren't me or Cosmic will get an extra one. Don't know who they are yet . If two of you don't want one then the other six can have them, if not i'll randomize you.

Swan
01-16-17, 03:23 PM
Dear Letterboxd: Team America is not an animated movie. When will people figure this out?

Swan
01-16-17, 03:25 PM
I can do without another nom, I suppose.

Camo
01-16-17, 03:29 PM
I can do without another nom, I suppose.

No need to dramatically fall on your sword mate :p. Was only asking if people didn't think they could manage another one, i don't want anyone to put themselves out of the running for other reasons, you are a sweetheart though ;). The randomizer will be our god :mnight:

Not seen so far:

Rock and Rule
Fantastic Planet (Animation List)
Wrinkles (never heard of it)
The Wind Rises (Animation List)
Ernest and Celestine
Yellow Submarine (Animation List)
From Up On Poppy Hill
Batman: Year One
Whisper of the Hear (Animation List)
Akira (Animation List)
9
Megamind

Should be at 96% on the Animation List after this

Howl's Moving Castle
Batman: Year One
Whisper Of The Heart
The Garden of Words

CiCi adds another three i haven't seen including another one from the Animation List

CosmicRunaway
01-16-17, 03:40 PM
I just checked my Animation List expecting it to be embarrassingly low, but it's actually at 57% which is much better than the 10% I was expecting haha.

Out of CiCi's noms, I've only seen Beauty and the Beast and Howl's Moving Castle. Hadn't heard of Poppy Hill or Garden of Words.

Camo
01-16-17, 03:42 PM
The Garden of Words is only 45 minutes long and is an easy watch. Beautiful animation.

rauldc14
01-16-17, 03:43 PM
Have you really never seen Up or Ratatouille Cosmic?

CosmicRunaway
01-16-17, 03:44 PM
Apparently my room mate (the other one, not the Backseat MoFo) owns From Up on Poppy Hill. I've literally never heard of it before now though.

CosmicRunaway
01-16-17, 03:46 PM
Have you really never seen Up or Ratatouille Cosmic?
Nope, neither. There is a copy of Up on Bluray/DVD in the house though, and I've heard quite a bit about it. I didn't have any interest in seeing Ratatouille when it came out, but I've since met a few people who like it.

jiraffejustin
01-16-17, 03:48 PM
I've seen these:

Wall-E - Camo
The Wrong Trousers - Camo
Bambi - Camo (When I was a kid, so I don't know if I will vote on it)
How To Train Your Dragon - Camo
Princess Mononoke - Cosmic
Fantastic Planet - Raul
Porco Rosso - Raul
Fantastic Mr. Fox - Raul
Up - Raul
Aladdin - Raul (Same as Bambi)
Finding Nemo - Raul
Grave of the Fireflies - Cricket
Animal Farm - Cricket (Okay, so I haven't seen it... but I have read the book... that counts, right?)
Rango - Cricket
Ratatouille - Miss Vicky
Mary and Max. - Miss Vicky
Paprika - Miss Vicky
Wreck-It Ralph - Miss Vicky
Ernest and Celestine - Miss Vicky
Charlotte's Web - Miss Vicky
Lady and the Tramp - Swan (Same as Aladdin)
A Town Called Panic - Swan
Fritz the Cat - Swan
Beauty & The Beast - CiCi
Whisper Of The Heart - CiCi
The Garden of Words - CiCi

I like most of these at least a little bit. I think only a couple of them I didn't care for.

I was going to nominate A Town Called Panic and Whisper of the Heart. I thought for sure I'd be able to but other people have decent taste too apparently.

My noms

The Illusionist (2010)
Only Yesterday (1991)
It's Such a Beautiful Day (2012) - Not to be confused with the short of the same name, as this is the three shorts edited into a single feature length film
Inside Out (2015)
Akira (1988)
Can I nominate Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Or is that too much live-action?

Miss Vicky
01-16-17, 03:48 PM
I'm at 100% watched for the Animation List. You people are slackers.

CosmicRunaway
01-16-17, 03:52 PM
I haven't seen any of JJ's noms, other than Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (assuming he is nominating it). I turned on Akira to watch for the Sci-Fi Countdown, but turned it off to do something else and haven't gotten around to it again...yet.

Camo
01-16-17, 03:52 PM
Roger Rabbit counts, it's the main reason i brought it up. With JJ nominating Akira that means i'll be at 97% on the Animation List provided i actually watch them.

I'm very surprised something hasn't been picked yet especially since at least two of the members are massive fans of it:

Spirited Away

Chypmunk
01-16-17, 03:53 PM
Okay just randomized you guys. If anyone really doesn't want an extra one tell me because it's going to break my heart telling the two who missed out :bawling:
Can't have hearts being broken so I'll go without an extra one Camo - and honestly that's not me symbolically falling on my sword :nope:

CiCi
01-16-17, 03:53 PM
I felt that was too obvious a choice Camo, so I chose something else

Miss Vicky
01-16-17, 03:54 PM
I don't know if I've seen Poppy Hill. I'll have to search my posts and see. Not a fan of any Ghibli aside from Grave of the Fireflies though.
HATED Only Yesterday.

rauldc14
01-16-17, 03:54 PM
Yes, I was going to nominate that as it is my favorite animated of all time. Figured Guap would nominate it,

Yes, I was going to nominate that as it is my favorite animated of all time. Figured Guap would nominate it,

No, we just watch other films too

Hey between all that damn Miyazaki and PMMM, it was a chore!

Camo
01-16-17, 04:08 PM
Actually, i'll give tat the extra noms. I forgot all about those. Then ten of us will have 6 nominations and Cosmic will have four, sorts that problem out.

tatmmw2
01-16-17, 04:09 PM
Oh, ok. At least it wasn't because I was late this time ;) this was 1 day ago so I won't take it as I'm late. I would gladly vote! Hope this time I know more movies, I sucked at the TV Tornament

Actually, i'll give tat the extra noms. I forgot all about those. Then ten of us will have 6 nominations and Cosmic will have four, sorts that problem out.

Cool! Thanks a lot :D. How many do I have to nominate, or is it as many as I want? (with a Max. of course)

Edit: I just saw the pm

Who are the last two people Camo?

Camo
01-16-17, 04:46 PM
Gatsby and gbg. They both posted around five hours from now last night so i'm guessing they'll be on around that time again. I won't though so it'll start tomorrow most likely.

Miss Vicky

Sword in the Stone - Cosmic
Rock and Rule - Cosmic
Fritz the Cat - Swan

These are the only noms I haven't seen so far.

Love Sword in the Stone. Top five Disney for me, not sure if it would be your thing though.

For the record i nominated Bambi because i loved it so much on my rewatch last month that it's now replaced Pinocchio as my favourite Disney and is in my top five Animated Films.

rauldc14
01-16-17, 05:36 PM
I haven't seen Bambi in ages. I've been watching a lot of Disney lately too.

Pinocchio is up there on my list of faves.

I really enjoy Sword in the Stone. I don't think it's necessarily one of the best, but it's one of the most fun Disney flicks to watch.

Okay, we'll be doing eight matches a week to give the members who want to watch some of the films a chance, if you want any extra time just ask me. Obviously you can only vote in a match where you've seen both nominations. That's about it, i'll keep the ongoing results in the first post.

Inside Out (2015) - JJ vs Megamind - tat

(Have yet to see Megamind)

Lilo & Stitch - gbg vs Mary and Max. - Miss Vicky

(I prefer Mary and Max but i also like Lilo & Stich)

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Raul vs Despicable Me - gbg

(Easy one for me. Not a big fan of Despicable Me and Fantastic Mr. Fox is my second favourite Animated Film.)

Paprika - Miss Vicky vs Fantastic Planet - Raul

(Going to watch Fantastic Planet for this)

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - gbg vs Kung Fu Panda - Gatsby

(Think i respect Snow White more than i enjoy it, but the i'm not a fan of Kung Fu Panda)

Waltz with Bashir - Swan vs From Up on Poppy Hill - CiCi

(Not seen From Up On Poppy Hill)

The Plague Dogs - Cricket vs Meet the Robinsons - tat

(Plague Dogs is depressing, probably won't see it again. Meet The Robinsons is one of my least favourite Disneys though)

The Illusionist (2010) - JJ vs The Emperor's New Groove - tat

(Damn, this is closer than i'd think. Got a feeling i'll like The Illusionist alot more when i finally rewatch, i'd say i like it a bit more than The Emperor's New Groove right now but that's still one of my favourite Disney's so i'm fine with whichever goes through)

Inside Out (2015) - JJ vs Megamind - tat
I saw Inside Out and despite everything people said I didn't LOVE it, it's a interesting movie with an original concept and it's kind of sentimental but I don't really care about sentimental movies :p so I choose Megamind.

Lilo & Stitch - gbg vs Mary and Max. - Miss Vicky
I just rewatched Lilo and Stitch a few days ago, loved it more that before. I kind of understand more the whole situation with Nani and Lilo's custody. Also I love the soundtrack, Burning Love is amazing! Still I haven't seen Mary and Max, just saw the trailer, it seems quite interesting :)

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Raul vs Despicable Me - gbg
Need to watch Fantastic Mr Fox, I saw the trailer when I was completing the Animation List and it looks good too :)

Paprika - Miss Vicky vs Fantastic Planet - Raul
I'm not lucky, there is always one that I see and one that I didn't. Again, Fantastic Planet seems interesting, I guess different animation makes it more special maybe? but what I like about them is that they all seem strange (I love strange)

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - gbg vs Kung Fu Panda - Gatsby
Kung Fu Panda, sorry gbg, I love the first one, and I don't like a lot classics.

Waltz with Bashir - Swan vs From Up on Poppy Hill - CiCi
Right now I'm absolutely going to watch those 3 I mentioned and maybe the Illutionists, that's 4 movies for now. I don't think it would be so fair for me to vote in this one too, so I'm kind of leaving From Upp on Poppy Hill for lasts to try to avoid it. Still it's a Miyazaki one, it might be awesome.

The Plague Dogs - Cricket vs Meet the Robinsons - tat
I don't want to vote so much in the ones I have. I will leave this before last.

The Illusionist (2010) - JJ vs The Emperor's New Groove - tat
By Camou's post I'm guessing this is a really good movie, I will totally watch it

Thanks Camou! I will watch them tomorrow if I can, since it's my b-day I might have all day to watch them, if I'm not drag into some family dinner

Lilo & Stitch - gbg vs Mary and Max. - Miss Vicky
- It's been a long time since I've seen Lilo & Stitch, but I remember it well enough to know that I like Mary and Max more.

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Raul vs Despicable Me - gbg
- I haven't seen Despicable Me

Paprika - Miss Vicky vs Fantastic Planet - Raul
- I could see myself being more likely to vote the other way in the future.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - gbg vs Kung Fu Panda - Gatsby
- Been a LONG time since I've seen Snow White. I won't vote on this, because I am not confident enough to vote either way. I don't hate Kung Fu Panda though.

Waltz with Bashir - Swan vs From Up on Poppy Hill - CiCi
- I haven't seen either.

The Plague Dogs - Cricket vs Meet the Robinsons - tat
- I haven't seen either.

The Illusionist (2010) - JJ vs The Emperor's New Groove - tat
- Based on memory, I don't think there is anything wrong with The Emperor's New Groove. The Illusionist is just on a whole other level for me. It's one my favorite animated films of all-time.

Lilo & Stitch - gbg vs Mary and Max. - Miss Vicky

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Raul vs Despicable Me - gbg
Fantastic Mr. Fox is okay, but I love the Minions. :)

Paprika - Miss Vicky vs Fantastic Planet - Raul
Not really a fan of either, but Paprika is a better story IMO.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - gbg vs Kung Fu Panda - Gatsby

Sword in the Stone - Cosmic
Rock and Rule - Cosmic
Fritz the Cat - Swan

Batman: Year One - CiCi

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Raul vs Despicable Me - gbg

Paprika - Miss Vicky vs Fantastic Planet - Raul
I respect Fantastic Planet, but I love Paprika.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - gbg vs Kung Fu Panda - Gatsby
Never liked KFP.

Waltz with Bashir - Swan vs From Up on Poppy Hill - CiCi
I'm going to try to watch Poppy Hill. My library has it, so assuming I get a chance to go over there it shouldn't be a problem. Pretty sure I know how I'm going to vote though.

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Raul vs Despicable Me - gbg

Paprika - Miss Vicky vs Fantastic Planet - Raul

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - gbg vs Kung Fu Panda - Gatsby

Waltz with Bashir - Swan vs From Up on Poppy Hill - CiCi

Only seen the first and loved it.

The Plague Dogs - Cricket vs Meet the Robinsons - tat

When did we started? the first set finished in a week right? There are 4 sets of 16, and then there will be half of them on round two and repeat until there is one right?

The first set went up 3 days ago so yeah another 4 before that closes. Yup, 4 sets of 16 then 2 sets of 16 in the second round, etc, until the final two.

Think it's safe to say Mary & Max and The Illusionist are going through, Snow White too most likely. With three days left Paprika vs Fantastic Planet is the only tie, if it doesn't sort itself out we'll just keep it open while the second set is going on.

I rewatched Paprika last night, and watched Fantastic Planet the night before. I'll vote this afternoon once I've finally watched From Up on Poppy Hill like I said I would.

Inside Out (2015) - JJ vs Megamind - tat
Haven't seen either.

Lilo & Stitch - gbg vs Mary and Max - Miss Vicky
Have not seen Mary and Max. I'll make a new post if I happen to watch it before voting closes.

Fantastic Mr. Fox - Raul vs Despicable Me - gbg
Haven't seen either.

Paprika - Miss Vicky vs Fantastic Planet - Raul
These are both very imaginative and interesting films. When I rewatched Paprika, I found it much more engaging than when I had first seen it in '07/08, and I liked it significantly more than I expected so I'm really happy I watched this again. Fantastic Planet is a solid film as well with great social commentary. According to my room mates, it's easily the weirdest thing they've walked by and seen me watching haha.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - gbg vs Kung Fu Panda - Gatsby
While Snow White is not one of my favourite Disney films, I like it slightly more than Kung Fu Panda, which I wasn't really a fan of.

Waltz with Bashir - Swan vs From Up on Poppy Hill - CiCi
After my Ghibli-loving room mate confessed that she's not that fond of From Up on Poppy Hill, and practically hated it the first time she saw it, I was not looking forward to watching it. It's safe to say that I liked it much more than she did. It was a rather pleasant surprise and made this a much closer vote than expected.

The Plague Dogs - Cricket vs Meet the Robinsons - tat
Haven't seen either.

The Illusionist (2010) - JJ vs The Emperor's New Groove - tat

Paprika would be a good choice since unless other votes come in that's one of the only matches you can affect. The other is Meet The Robinsons vs Plague Dogs so if you've seen one of them watching the other wouldn't be a bad idea. Of course if you watch something that goes through you can vote on that match next round provided you've seen what it's up against.

Animal Farm - Cricket vs The Great Mouse Detective - Camo

Thanks guys for sticking to this, my loss of enthusiasm (even though i kept making them) for the tv ones was because of the lack of votes after a while more than anything. I'm fine with watching something to break a tie but when it seriously looks like something is going to win because only one person has seen the character and this character doesn't appear to like Season 4 then we know something has went wrong

As much as I like it, I think Halloween Town is a bit overrated.

Charlotte's Web - Miss Vicky vs Rango - Cricket

Wasn't too big a fan of Rango.

Sword in the Stone - Cosmic vs Up - Raul

The first five minutes of this breaks my heart, then I slowly recover and enjoy the rest of the film, to turn into an emotional wreck at the end again.

Over the Hedge - gbg vs Batman: Year One - CiCi

I read the comic of this a while ago, and loved it, and I enjoyed this just as much. It's so gritty and intense, and it's feels somewhat more authentic (as much as a superhero film can be) it's also one of my favourite depictions of Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Haven't seen OVH for a little while, but I remember thinking it was just okay.

It's Such a Beautiful Day (2012) - JJ vs Finding Nemo - Raul

Need to make a note to watch this one, although Finding Nemo will take some topping!

The Wrong Trousers - Camo vs Howl's Moving Castle - CiCi

The Wrong Trousers was my childhood  I loved Wallace & Gromit, but Sophie is one of my favourite characters ever, and it's one of my favourite films ever.

Animal Farm - Cricket vs The Great Mouse Detective - Camo

I love me some George Orwell.

Aladdin - Raul vs Lady and the Tramp - Swan
