I think I did once against Easy Rider just cause the Steppenwolf song already won another tournament (Cars and Trucks Tournament). I didn't wanna see the same song win twice.

I'm trying not to laugh out loud at the conversation that dragged on here hours ago.
Yes, cricket, SC somehow has managed to possess me into his world of gayness. The only way out is to make me win in the next tourney, with a song that is hopefully less gay.
In all seriousness though, Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now is a guilty pleasure. I grew up listening to that music and appreciate it. My musical taste ranges from extremely gay to extremely badass :D

The problem is that, besides the song being awful, you had an outsider come in unnecessarily to determine the outcome of the game.

Not really. We voted for our Top 2. Skeleton Twins got 3 votes, automatically qualifying it.
Blues Brothers had only one vote, automatically disqualifying it.
That left us with the 3 remaining songs with 2 votes each, that I brought in a tie breaker to determine.

That tie breaker was DV who voted for Saturday Night Fever, and the rest is history.
Nothing out of the ordinary happened there.

I think it's interesting that of the final two, one was a song that I like in a clip that I don't like, and the other was a song that's okay, but not great, in a clip that was great, from a movie that I'd never even heard of before watching that clip. If this had been a normal song tournament, I might have voted the other way based on just the songs, but because of the movie clips, my votes weren't always for the better song in each match.

Based on the movie clips, I would have still voted for The Skeleton Twins. I prefer the song "Rawhide" over the Starship song, and the clip from The Blues Brothers was a fun clip, but overall, I liked the clip from The Skeleton Twins better. It made me want to see the movie from the first time I watched the clip in Round 1.

That song is like what the Nightmare on Elm St. remake is for movies. It has it's fans, but it's widely hated, not just because it's bad, but more because it's a disgrace to Rock N Roll. Grace Slick quit the band because she hated the music they were doing.

The only reason I didn't nominate it in the worst song tourney is because I already nominated the equally embarrassing We Built this City.

So you have a song that's largely hated in a movie known to be mediocre by the few people who know of it, and a clip of friggin Bill Hader dancing goofy and lip-syncing the lyrics to Kristen Wig. Then look at the completion with all those great movies and songs, and iconic clips. It's literally a miracle that song won this. The only possible way it could have happened was to have the 3 of you in a 5 person tournament. It's that much of an oddity. Yoda should ban all of us for embarrassing this forum forever.

Based on the movie clips, I would have still voted for The Skeleton Twins. I prefer the song "Rawhide" over the Starship song, and the clip from The Blues Brothers was a fun clip, but overall, I liked the clip from The Skeleton Twins better. It made me want to see the movie from the first time I watched the clip in Round 1.

But like I said about the actual final two clips, if it had just been the songs and not the movie clips, I would have voted the other way, (for "Rawhide" over "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us").

That makes be feel better knowing that the change in format at the end didn't affect the outcome of the game. It won fair and square, as disturbing as it is.
