It wasn't wrong, just potentially ambiguous; everybody owns the content of their posts, meaning they can publish it, sell it, reproduce it, whatever. They just don't own the server space it's on, which means they can't force us to keep it up.

But it's a non-issue, anyway, because it's not in our rules/policies to wipe out perfectly legitimate threads as punishment. If someone goes off on a mod we might ban them or remove the insult, but we don't go back and remove unrelated, unobjectionable things as retribution. That wouldn't make sense.

You didn't attack me in a personal way, but after Destiny already (jokingly) threatened to delete everything I had done, I made a joke feeling like I was in Nazi Germany because of how severe that would have been.

Then you came around, all serious, and made a stupid, big deal about the Nazi Germany comment while also at the same time mentioning how none of my posts BELONG to me.

Do you know how that all feels to me? First with what Destiny says, then with what you said. It's the whole reason I made the Nazi Germany comment to begin with.

I felt as if everything - EVERYTHING - I ever write and do here - is worthless because I ultimately have no power over it. My posts "do not belong to me" as you say.

I think the way you responded to me was downright cold. I never meant to be cold to anybody. I'm amazed at how many different ways this manages to be wrong:

First, both of those images are from a television show, which means he's playing a character. And guess what? His character is a heavily autistic geek. Why, it's almost as if he's acting.

Second, it's a picture, not a psych eval. Everyone has pictures of themselves wherein their body language is more or less submissive than usual, so the idea that any one (or two, or twelve) pictures allows you to gauge his real-life submissiveness is absurd. She could have just as easily posted this:

You didn't attack me in a personal way, but after Destiny already (jokingly) threatened to delete everything I had done, I made a joke feeling like I was in Nazi Germany because of how severe that would have been.

Then you came around, all serious, and made a stupid, big deal about the Nazi Germany comment while also at the same time mentioning how none of my posts BELONG to me.

Do you know how that all feels to me? First with what Destiny says, then with what you said. It's the whole reason I made the Nazi Germany comment to begin with.

I felt as if everything - EVERYTHING - I ever write and do here - is worthless because I ultimately have no power over it. My posts "do not belong to me" as you say.

I think the way you responded to me was downright cold. I never meant to be cold to anybody. I reacted strongly in a jokingly sort of way because Destiny had reacted strongly to what I had said to her. And now you have done nothing but continue to make me look bad for feeling upset about all of this.

You shouldn't go around -- neither should Destiny really joke about it -- telling people that their posts here are not their property, even if they truly aren't. I think everyone should be made to feel like what they do here is theirs -- and deletions and edits only happen when people cross the line.
