I never got to know Deadite very well. I think the only time I interacted with him was in a Roman Polanski thread, of all places.

He passed away during the summer when I was in the process of moving and I didn't have regular internet access. When I came back and saw R.I.P. Deadite under so many avatars, I assumed it was some weird joke. I wish it had been. When I learned of the news, I was shocked. Regardless of whether or not I knew him, 36 is an incredibly young age. I guess it goes to show that you never know when your time will come, so cherish every moment.

We miss you, Deadite.

I want to write a heartfelt acceptance speech and poorly photoshop Captain Spaulding's head on somebody's body and all that nonsense, but the ceremony would be over by the time I finished typing it up, so I'll hold off for now.

I'm surprised by how badly I wanted that award. I've actually been in a bad mood the last couple of days because I had convinced myself that I had lost. I figured GBGoodies or Rhys would get the award, to be honest. I sometimes feel like I rub people the wrong way for being too ridiculous at times, especially with all the bath stuff. I've even heard that some may have voted against me for shamelessly campaigning for myself, but I was just trying to have fun.

I know that the other nominees have more posts than I do, but I put a lot of effort into my posts. Sometimes I worry that the time and effort isn't worth it, but receiving Best New MoFo definitely makes me feel appreciated, which is a great feeling.

Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I'll go into more detail later in typical Captain Spaulding fashion.

The 70s thread is just a great list, but the Chill thread is great place where you get to interact with one another and make the community a greater place overall. There's been many great threads this year, and a massive thanks to everyone involved in making them great, but in terms of sheer quality and effort put in to every post I think we can all agree that Holden's Seventies thread is the best. It's been the best countdown so far (no disrespect to previous countdowns), I knew it was going to be great with so many top films, but Holden's effort and personal insight in to the era made it even more so.

The 70's Countdown is the reason I joined this forum, to be honest. I had started lurking heavily during the 80's Countdown, checking in every day to see which new movies had been revealed. I was disappointed when some of my favorites never showed, so when I saw that there was going to be a 70's Countdown, I had to join so that I could help out my favorites.

Best decision I ever made.

The countdowns are fun to watch from the outside, but it's so much more fun when you're part of group and waiting to see which of your movies will show, how your votes influenced the rankings, etc. Some of my best posts came in that countdown, especially my ranting and raving about the brilliance of Apocalypse Now.

Hello. It is with great honor that I unveil a category that is brand new. The most creative Mofo category. There are a ton of creative and talented people on this forum (me not being one of them), but these are the five that have shown themselves to be a cut above the rest. Again, you won't see Rauldc14 in this one. I can't even draw a stick person. I can't even stay in the lines coloring. I can't even properly sharpen a colored pencil. Anyways, enough about me. Here are the nominees:

Godoggo- truly a talented artist. Stunning artwork in the artwork tab. And comes up with very creative thread ideas.

Daniel M- creator of Patient 8 from survivor. You know, the one that beat out Ryan and had SC throwing a temper tantrum. Daniel is a very creative drawer.

Skepsis93- maker of The Apartment artwork. That thing is simply awesome. Very talented works come from this man. And made the Animation banner list.

Rodent- the banner king and always making art to thrill us all. Even set up these very Mofie graphics.

Sexy Celebrity- creative maker of the sneezing thread, Mofo Prom, his game thread where he banned himself, yadda yadda yadda

Sexy Celebrity was my vote for Most Creative. He puts a lot of effort into lightening the mood around here, sometimes single-handedly fighting off the oppression of SERIOUS FILM DISCUSSION with his bizarre, creative threads that make people laugh and insure that Movie Forums remains a fun hang out spot in addition to just being a place to discuss films.

I actually met Swan through a survivor game, and I wondered how he had so many posts, and such a good taste in movies, yet I had never spoke to him before. He explained how he used to be part of the site ages ago and had only just returned. Since then we've talked constantly and got on great, and he's became one of the most recognised members of this site, he seems to be everywhere, getting on with everyone, constantly making jokes or posting about good movies.
