I have been lurking and I like the lists you fellas put out, might as well put up my own. Enjoy :)

#100: Jaws 2
More of a guilty pleasure, Jaws 2 is an exceptional sequel that doesn't stray far from the original's formula.

#99: Animal Kingdom
Considering I'm an Australian, I can be quite biased for Animal Kingdom but generally speaking, it's still a very good crime-drama.

#98: The Cabin In The Woods
Refreshing spin, I love its dark humor.

#97: Twister
Special-effects galore, a childhood favorite and very fun. Bill Paxton is great.

#96: Christine
Carpenter's most underrated, impressive how they made a car seem so frightening.

#95: Platoon
Critically acclaimed, very effective anti-war film. Charlie Sheen is underrated as a serious actor.

#94: Village Of The Damned
For an old film, this was weirdly gripping and had a powerful sense of suspense behind it. I don't like the remake.

#93: Manhunter
Silence Of The Lambs is okay but Manhunter is better, just so creepy and unnerving. Silence is too americanized/mainstreamed for my taste and doesn't capture the book's essence (like Manhunter).

#92: Slacker
I can really relate to this film when my motivation hits rock-bottom, the humor is dry but funny.

Manhunter is a very good movie. I also enjoyed Platoon and Jaws 2.

Hi nice to meet you :)

I've heard Animal Kingdom is good but not got round to watching it yet. Good start to your list. I love Twister, love disaster films anyway. I like Platoon and Christine, and you're right about the creepiness in Manhunter. I find that much more effective than slasher films

Appreciate the words, Optimus and christine.

#91: Death To Smoochy
Guilty pleasure for sure, this sort of comedy was made for me.

#90: 10 Things I Hate About You
Cute love comedy-drama, on tv frequently and I always tune-in. Heath Ledger is dreamy.

#89: Mad Dog and Glory
Props to De Niro and Murray, fun all the way through.

#87: Kramer vs Kramer
Hoffman is great, a film that'll get you right in the feels. Cherish your family.

#86: Unbreakable
I love it, Shylaman's best. Down-to-earth beats excess, who thought it could happen in a superhero movie.

#85: Jerry Maguire
You'll stay on your feet when you think about this movie. Motivational.

#84: Team America
Trashy humor, my style. Puppet animation is pet-peeve of mine.

#83: Monsters Inc.
Awesome pixar, great heroes and villains alike. A long-time favorite.

Whobody, greetings from America, it's always good to have another movie fan here.

The only 2 that I've seen is Platoon and Jerry Maguire, both choice movies. Keep the list coming.:)

Not many people seem to like it, unfortunately.

That doesn't mean you should feel guilty for liking it. Screw them. I think it's hilarious and I'm not usually that big on comedies.

Arcanis
12-13-14, 02:53 PM
Cabin in the Woods is an easy favorite of mine: horrifying, intelligent, hilarious, with a plethora of in-camera effects and physical monster designs.

Unbreakable is easily Shyamalan's most underrated film. While The Sixth Sense is generally better made, it is worth exactly two viewings (one for the twist and one to see how the twist was set up). Unbreakable does not have this problem, however, and Jackson is perfect in his role.

The rest I either haven't seen or am generally indifferent to. Monsters Inc is something that I never quite got the praise for, despite being really well conceived, animated, coiced and executed. I think it's the heavy emphasis on the kid.

The first Jaws is better than Jaws 2, so hopefully it will be higher up in your list, but Jaws 2 is a great movie too.

Twister is one of those guilty pleasure movies for me. I have to stop and watch it every time I'm flipping channels and I see that it's on.

I'm not a fan of either horror movies or Stephen King, but Christine is one of his better movies.

I love Kramer vs Kramer. It's by far, my favorite Dustin Hoffman movie.

I agree wholeheartedly about Unbreakable being one of Shyamalan's best, if not his best. It's a toss-up for me between this and The Sixth Sense.

Monsters Inc. is my second favorite Pixar movie, (right behind Wall-E), and one of my favorite animated movies.

#82: The Player
I’m a big fan of those fourth-wall breaking films, this is no exception.

#81: My Cousin Vinny
Joe Pesci is so funny in this light-hearted comedy.

#80: Ray
Jamie Foxx’s great performance, worthy bio-pic.

#79: Wall Street
Douglas’s performance as Gordon Gekko is top-notch and Charlie Sheen is great too.

#78: Dog Soliders
My favorite werewolf movie, cool and gritty and just plain fun.

#77: Clerks
thoroughly enjoy the dialogue, right up their with Tarantino’s best.

#76: Heathers
Quintessential High School comedy-drama, see it multiple times a year, never gets old.

#75: A Perfect World
Heart-touching. Costner, Eastwood and the kid all did well.

#74: Total Recall
Great mindless fun, been a fan since childhood.

I'd wouldn't call Heathers a "Quintessential High School comedy-drama..."

It's more of an atypical black comedy, one of a kind for sure. I'm glad to see it on your list.

Happy Birthday to Jamie Foxx. He was excellent in Ray.

Christian Slater is great in Heathers. It isn't really my type of movie, but I like it anyway, and I recommend that everyone see it, if for no other reason than for Slater's performance as J.D.

I actually like Jaws 2 almost as much as the first one. It's one of my favorite sequels.

I thought Animal Kingdom and Cabin in the Woods were decent, but they were both disappointing for me.

Twister is a blast, always fun to watch.

Christine, Platoon, and Manhunter are huge favorites of mine. I think I still favor Silence of the Lambs, but it's close, and a valid argument can be made for both sides.

Haven't seen Slacker or Smoochy, but I'm interested in both.

Not interested in 10 Things.

Not overly interested in Mad Dog and Glory, but I should be with De Niro and Murray.

I very much like Unbreakable, Jerry Maguire, Monsters Inc., and Team America.

Kramer vs Kramer is excellent.

Haven't seen The Player, but I want to.

I like My Cousin Vinny and Ray.

I really like Wall Street, Dog Soldiers, Clerks, Heathers, and A Perfect World.

Love Total Recall.

I've tried adding images but it says something about not having enough posts, sadly.

#73: Rounders
The casino setting and premise is one of my favorites in film, Norton and Damon put in good (pre-stardom) performances.

#72: The Punisher
Thomas Jane is the epitome of badass, no one seems to like it but the film captures (for me) the character’s essence perfectly.

#71: Point Break
A guilty pleasure once again, the corniness of it all is part of the film’s charm. Reeves and Swayze compliment each other well.

#70: The Crow
Such a cool film, its influence on society is underrated.

#69: Bronson
Refn’s best film, stylistically brilliant and a great character study.

#68: Home Alone
An onslaught of laughs, never (or will ever) gets old.

#67: Leon
Brilliant performances by Oldman and Portman.

#66: The Terminator
My favourite of all the Terminators, Arnold is frighteningly good in his role.

#65: The Warriors
A classic who’s sheer reputation speaks for itself.

Looking back at it, this is an unusual mix of films.

#64: Charile’s Angels
Three hot chicks kicking ass and taking names. I’ve always loved this.

#63: Mean Girls
Another fantastic teen-comedy, depicts the social politics in high school well.

#62: The Sweet Hereafter
The title rings true to the actual film, it’s so sweet and beautiful.

#61: Bad Day At Black Rock
An unknown title, BDABR is pretty old but a fantastic mystery film. Rivals most Hitchcock films imo.

#60: The Fisher King
A trippy, immerse yourself-in the freakiness type film. Such a great take away from reality.

#59: Chopper
I prefer this to Bronson by a small margin, I feel as though Chopper is a deeper and more compelling character. As an Australian, it holds dear to me.

#58: Falling Down
Underrated character study, Michael Douglas is the bomb (quite literally).

#57: Network
One of the best of the 70s and Lumet’s best.

#56: The Thing
Carpenter’s tip-top best, glorious and gory special effects.

Arcanis

Terminator is one of my favorite action films and also one of the first I've ever watch so it has a sprinkle of nostalgia, and Leon is at a high list on my top films list (for those who are currently following my list get ready for it!). #55: Blue Thunder & Runaway Train
Vehicle films are my thing, hence these two excellent ones.

#54: Darkman
Darkman is an extremely underrated superhero flick, one of (or should be) the best.

#53: Misery
Creepy film with an exceptional performance from Rosie.

#52: True Lies
The fun lies strong in this one, my favorite of Cameron as unusual as it may seem.

#51: Clueless
Clueless is revolutionary, in the same vein as other famous films.

#50: Thelma & Louise
A film that really pulls you in, essential road-trip picture.

#49: Die Hard
The essential non-traditional christmas movie. Defines the action genre in my humble opinion.

#48: Goodfellas
A renowned classic, a great blend of humour, violence and drama.

#47: Psycho
A classic, what needs to be said. The iconic shower scene still gives me chills.

#46: Sling Blade
Billy Bob Thorton truly pulls off a magnificent performance.

#45: Man On Fire
Fantastic, awesome-actiony revenge film. So much goodness.

#44: Easy Rider
Best Motorbike Movie. Nicholson is great for the time he’s in there. I’m amazed at ER’s budget.

#43: Scarface
The original is daft and tame compared to Pacino’s masterpiece, great performance and lines.

#42: Dead Man’s Shoes
I love revenge-type movies, this one is unrivalled. Paddy is untouchable and truly captures “a man on a quest”.

#41: Malcom X
Washington actually transforms himself into Malcom X, his on-screen performance (in one word) is commanding.

#40: Catch Me If You Can
Dicaprio and Hanks team up for one of the greatest movies of the 2000s. Spectacular chemistry.

#39: Groundhog Day
Bill Murray is funny but he’s 10x that in this one, as is the whole cast. It can be very sad as well.

#37: Election
Matthew Boardrick and Reese Witherspoon are tremendous in this dark comedy of high school politics and deception.

#36: Rango
I’m not big on westerns so this was quite a surprise, the animated aspect brings a certain charm which most films of the genre lack.

#35: The Hunt for Red October
A film close to me through personal means, one of my father’s favourites and it was almost a tradition to watch it every year and in October (might I add).

#34: Fargo
My favourite Coen, granted I’ve only seen a few but they masterfully blend different elements from all sorts of genres into one amazing film.

#33: Do The Right Thing
Undeniably Spike Lee’s best, charismatic and doesn’t fall into the norm of being melodramatic.

#32: Frankie & Johnny
Pacino and Pfeiffer have astonishing chemistry as partners, I love this film and it’s my preferred romance film.

#31: Rocky
The pioneer of underdog stories, absolutely iconic.

#30: The Exorcist
I was gobsmacked in fear when I first saw this film, it’s not filled with complexities, just really frightening sequences. The epitome of a scary film, shock value wise.

#29: Jaws
How could this not be on here. The film is already phenomenal, but the reputation it’s built up over the years has made it a milestone in cinema. Spielberg has made some amazing films but this one stands clearly above the rest.

These three are great and, obviously, Jaws is my all time favourite film, so it's always good to see it on other people's lists.

Of the others, I've not seen Rango, while I remember thinking The Hunt For Red October was OK, which for a Sean Connery film really is something. Only saw Frankie & Johnny once, but I really liked it. Sweet little film. Election, Fargo and Rocky are all good films.

#28: Donnie Brasco
Pacino and Depp make for a helluva duo. Not your typical mob/gangster movie, uniquely awesome.

#27: Silent Running
Influenced the likes of Star Wars, Dark Star, Logan’s Run etc. A real overlooked game changer and personal favorite of mine.

#26: Good Morning, Vietnam
Robin Williams is so good and loveable in this film, an overlooked gem of his illustrious career. (RIP)

#25: Dog Day Afternoon
A basic plot lifted by the superb actings of the entire cast, especially Cazale and Pacino.

#24: The Killer
I’m not one for foreign films but John Woo’s picture is an action ride for the ages, Arnold’s films look obsolete next to it.

#23: Sixteen Candles/Pretty In Pink
Compared almost religiously, I can’t put one over the other. Equally funny, touching, cute, equally perfect.

#22: Bonnie & Clyde
Amazingly good for its time and holds up very well, 60s movies aren’t usually my cup of tea but this one hit all the right notes. Warren Beatty is the shizzz.

#21: The Departed
Enthralling all the way through, performances are top-notch all round and it deserved the Oscar, not just for the constant Scorsese snub but because it’s an amazing (and the superior) remake.

#20: The Dark Knight
A revolutionary superhero film, paved the way for other dark ones of the like. Heath Ledger (RIP) is astonishing in this modern-day masterpiece.

Rep for Dog Day Afternoon, The Killer, and The Dark Knight.

I prefer Infernal Affairs much more than The Departed , but still it's a good film that didn't destroy the original like a lot of remakes are doing these days (Spike Lee how dare you f**k up my number 1 fav movie...).

The rest of the movies in the set I've seen were decent for me.

#27: Silent Running
#23: Sixteen Candles/Pretty In Pink
#21: The Departed
#20: The Dark Knight

+ rep for these movies.

I recently re-watched Silent Running, and it's not as good as I remembered it, but it's still a good movie.

I prefer Sixteen Candles over Pretty In Pink, but they're both great classic teen movies.

The Departed is a bit too violent for my taste, but it's a great movie.

I prefer most of the Marvel movies over the DC movies, but The Dark Knight is by far the best of the recent DC movies, mostly for Heath Ledger's amazing performance.

#28: Donnie Brasco
#25: Dog Day Afternoon
#24: The Killer

Donnie Brasco and The Killer are both 100 for me, too. I really liked Dog Day Afternoon, though I've only seen it a two or three times. I like Good Morning, Vietnam and The Departed was OK, thanks mainly to Damon and Leo.

The Departed, Dog Day Afternoon, and Donnie Brasco are also favorites of mine.

The Dark Knight, Bonnie & Clyde, and 16 Candles/Pretty in Pink are great too.

Silent Running and Good Morning, Vietnam were just ok for me.

Haven't seen The Killer yet.

#19: Office Space
An awesome black comedy, Gary Cole is my dream boss.

#18: The Deer Hunter
The Best Anti-War Film, every single performance is powerful and the length adds so much overall.

#17: The Breakfast Club
Essential for all high-schoolers, watch with Sixteen Candles and Pretty in Pink and you have yourself a great marathon.

#16: Picnic At Hanging Rock
Majestic is the word I’d use to describe this Australian masterpiece, the cinematography is just gorgeous.

#15: Up
Cute, funny, emotional. All the ingredients for a spectacular animation.

#14: There Will Be Blood
A mesmerising performance by Daniel Day Lewis, There Will Be Blood is a fantastic tale of greed. A classic in the making.

#13: The Graduate
A stellar picture about future uncertainty. Hoffman is all kinds of great.

#12: Taxi Driver
Robert De Niro produces what I feel is the greatest performance in cinema history. As close as you can get to the seedy-underbelly of New York in this day and age.

#11: Pulp Fiction
Speaks for itself, needs no explanation. Scripting, visuals, acting, the whole package.

Wonderful selection. All on my 100 and it's nice to see another fan of Picnic At Hanging Rock. :)

Shame about a couple of the others, though. Nevermind, you're still doing better than just about anyone else ever has.

 Breakfast Club and Up are both in my own top 100, with the latter being in my top ten. I really like Pulp Fiction, but wasn't as enamored with it the last time I watched it so it has slipped from my top 100.

Office Space, The Graduate and Picnic at Hanging Rock were decent but I wasn't too keen on them. I didn't much like Taxi Driver and I can't stand There Will Be Blood.

DRUM ROLL!!! :)

#10: The Brady Bunch Movie
I never watched the TV show but the movie has a great charm to it and sticking a traditional family into the frantic 90s proves for a extremely fun ride.

#9: Dazed and Confused
A far improved version of Slacker, If you ever wanted proof of Mcconaughey’s acting skills, here it is. Fabulous film.

#8: National Lapoon’s Vacation
A comedy ahead of its time, hilarious. Chevy Chase is unbelievably funny as is the entire family of wackiness.

#7: Tombstone
Unlike any other western I’ve seen, breaks the rules and succeeds greatly. The complete opposite of Unforgiven which was released a year earlier.

#6: Walk The Line
Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon are fantastic, depicting the life of Johnny Cash, Phoenix had some big shoes to fill, thankfully he delivers on every level. It’s his best performance, Her and The Master are often sighted as his best but this one, I feel he really lost himself in.

#5: Scream
Scream is a groundbreaking film, not only did it rejuvenate the slasher genre but it also eliminated the notion of them being serious. I love its self-aware bites at the genre.

#4: Almost Famous
A spectacular portrait of the up and downs of stardom and being famous.

#3: Wall-E
Its beautiful world even trumps those of real life. I was so invested into Wall-E which is remarkable considering he’s just a robot, more than I can say for most human characters.

#2: Boogie Nights
Like Almost Famous, but rather the ups and downs of the porn industry. Wahlberg was awesome in this and the entire cast brought something to the table. I love the camera shots and the song choices.

#1: Gangs of New York
The set-pieces and production design are magnificent. DDL loses himself as Bill Cutting and I found myself rooting for him, not DiCaprio or Diaz. An unusual choice for my fav Scorsese but it’s an absolutely tremendous epic.

I don't know what you're talking about. My movie choices are just fine. Your movie choices on the other hand are... questionable sometimes.

But yeah, we get along just fine. HK is my favorite MoFo, actually.

Last 20-

I've had Office Space on DVD for a few years and haven't watched it yet.

The Deer Hunter and The Breakfast Club are favorites.

I couldn't get into Picnic at Hanging Rock.

I loved how Up started, not so much the rest.

There Will Be Blood, The Graduate, Pulp Fiction, and Taxi Driver are all masterful.

I haven't seen Tombstone, The Brady Bunch Movie, or Gangs of New York yet.

Not crazy about Wall-E

I like Scream and Walk the Line, and love Almost Famous and Dazed and Confused.

Really love Vacation; glad to see another fan.

Boogie Nights is in my top 5.

Some great movies listed here...nice to see some love for Death to Smoochy and Kramer VS Kramer. Love Jerry Maguire too...and Heath Ledger is reason enough to check out 10 Things I Hate About You

Twister is definitely a guilty pleasure of mine...one of my favorite popcorn movies and I think it has enormous re-watch appeal.

Nice to see someone actually admit to liking The Brady Bunch Movie...especially someone who didn't watch the sitcom, because as someone who did, the movie seemed pointless to anyone who didn't watch the sitcom, but I guess I was wrong about that. I also agree with you regarding Joaquin Phoenix in Walk the Line...I would have given him the Oscar before Reese Witherspoon.

, especially for Heathers and A Perfect World, which are in my own top 100.
Loved A Perfect World...for my money, Kevin Costner's best performance.
