View Full Version : Swan Proves He Has Good Musical Taste With 50 Albums
Okay, this is like Sexy's 100 Movies thread - these are NOT my top 50 albums of all-time in order. They are simply 50 albums I like very much and consider favorites. My #1 favorite may be #5 on the list... it may be #46... it may not be on the list at all! Who knows, it's nebulous.
50. Dummy
(Portishead, 1994)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Portishead_-_Dummy_zps0cc8afc8.png
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Glory Box (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6ylDDs3mdJE)
2. It Could Be Sweet (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=57C_eWa2bgo)
3. Biscuit (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uiT0fBePR0Q)
4. Sour Times (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=g7gutsi1uT4)
5. Strangers (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B4TxEsRxltg)
I bought this album after getting into Massive Attack and looking for other trip hop artists. This was a name that constantly came up, so I checked them out, bought Dummy, and loved it. Beth Gibbons is a stunning singer.

You know you're getting + rep for this one.
Already clicked on Sour Times. God that's a great song.

Sorry, with that thread title I couldn't resist.
Actually I have "Glory Box" playing right now. I'm definitely not loving it, but it's not bad.

Glory Box is a great song. I have a friend who had that one repeat after every break up during the mid 90's. :D

I listen to Glory Box at least once a week, every week. Great start obviously.
49. Jewellery
(Micachu, 2009)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Jewellery_300_zpsddb54b1e.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Golden Phone (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8TRkZpFgJcI)
2. Lips (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dImT-Xs9RMI)
3. Vulture (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SnWCM2KZFDY)
4. Eat Your Heart (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fFu0HfQFSUs)
5. Curly Teeth (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AkHc0--GN9k)
Micachu is the stage name of Mica Levi, who composed the score for Under the Skin. Her "experimental pop", as she calls it, is very different from what you hear in the film however. Micachu did a second album called Never, which is equally good, and I might post it in this thread. I Imagine most are going to hate this, but hopefully JJ won't, and I know Godoggo likes "Golden Phone".
By the way - Mica Levi is a chick, if any of you can't tell. I think she's a lesbian.
48. (Pronounced...)
(Lynyrd Skynyrd, 1973)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Lynyrdskynyrd_zps644ca507.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Simple Man (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sMmTkKz60W8)
2. I Aint the One (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WoPGi8uWDb8)
3. Things Goin' On (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=c80ErUAIaVs)
4. Mississipi Kid (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=v_jMBh7GCYo)
5. Gimme Three Steps (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SM3jgkChV6M)
This was my absolute favorite album at one point when I was maybe 12. My dad was introducing me to all sorts of music and he bought this for me, and I couldn't stop listening to it. I remember learning "Simple Man" on guitar and playing it so much my fingers bled (figuratively). Fantastic album, one of my favorites of classic rock.
I left "Free Bird" off the list because it's kind of worn it's wear with me, and it's the most popular one, but rest assured, back then, you know I was rocking out to that sh*t.

Not digging that Micachu thing. +rep for Skynyrd, but no Tuesday's Gone? Also I personally rank Gimme Three Steps much higher than that.

Skynyrd is great, you redneck, you.
I'd never heard of Micachu before, but I'm listening to "Golden Phone" and digging it.
"Tuesday's Gone" is great, but there's only five songs I can pick. Actually, there's not a bad note on the entire album.
Not digging that Micachu thing. +rep for Skynyrd, but no Tuesday's Gone? Also I personally rank Gimme Three Steps much higher than that.
I remember listening to the album for the first time and "Gimme Three Steps" was the only one on the album I had heard before. So it was my favorite in the beginning, while I was first exploring the album.
Mica Levi is a chick, if any of you can't tell. I think she's a lesbian.
Is that higher than an alto?
I asked Yoda to delete this thread. I will conclude this with the cover of the greatest album of all-time.

I can feel the millions of patronizing eyes of the millions of snobs burning holes into this thread. It will crumble anyway due to the fire.

Don't delete this thread. I haven't given you any rep yet because I don't know any of the songs that you listed, and I haven't had a chance to listen to them yet. I was going to listen to them after I finished listening to the songs in the folk songs tournament tonight.

Never let anyone tell you that your opinion is wrong. You're entitled to your opinion just like they're entitled to theirs.
If I did one of these music threads, I would probably be the only person enjoying the music, but I wouldn't care. I love country music, and I'm proud of it. I don't care if nobody else agrees with me. It doesn't make me wrong. It makes them wrong for not being able to see how great country music really is. :D
Be proud of your favorite music. It wouldn't be popular all over the country, and maybe even all over the world, if you were the only person who loved it.

100. Dummy
(Portishead, 1994)

5. Strangers (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B4TxEsRxltg)
This isn't really my type of music, but it has a nice, mellow sound. It kind of reminded me of the type of music some of my college friends listened to while they were studying. My favorite of these songs was "Glory Box".

This is a little bit closer to my taste, at least a few of the songs here. My favorite song listed here is "Gimme Three Steps", but my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd song is "Sweet Home Alabama".

47. Mezzanine
(Massive Attaack, 1998)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/MassiveAttackMezzanine_zps7d781c61.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Dissolved Girl (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6lcZ0redg1s)
2. Man Next Door (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=S71_vIMQ0YY)
3. Risingson
(https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=85E9Q5Wx210) 4. Black Milk (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=li-adM-qOwI)
5. Inertia Creeps (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=sE7xyn28wjg)
Probably one of my top ten favorite albums of all-time. A trip hop classic - this and Dummy are, as far as I'm considered, the two masterpieces of the genre. If you are first checking them out, don't just pick one song to listen to but listen to them all, because each is different. "Dissolved Girl" has great female singing, "Man Next Door" has a strange but wonderful vocal performance by Horance Andy, and "Risingson" (if you're going to choose one to represent Massive Attack, go with that), has the two band members, 3D and Daddy G, doing their thing. The hit from the album is "Teardrop", and I'm sure many have heard it.

46. I, Robot
(The Alan Parsons Project, 1977)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/The_Alan_Parsons_Project_-_I_Robot_zps4543395a.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. I, Robot (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=td56XAHxLpw)
2. Breakdown (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=KJBTOC3Mfpk)
3. I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=jmeqFqAi-CE)
4. Some Other Time (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=k9qzsXP5yjE)
5. Don't Let It Show (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0mY-zdEJkNU)
I often day-dream about robots and the future, and sometimes I throw on the title track - one of my all-time favorite songs - to do so because it captures my imagination so well. In fact, the whole album does. I'm a big Alan Parsons fan, not only did he help create the single greatest album of all-time with Pink Floyd, but he had fantastic solo work.
Thank you for introducing me to Micachu & The Shapes, Swan. They sound really cool.

Glad you didn't quit Swan. I'm not a music guy so I probably won't know a lot of this stuff. I love some Skynyrd when I hear it though. Tuesday's Gone, Simple Man, and yes even the over played Free Bird are all fantastic.

I've never listened to either Massive Attack or The Alan Parsons Project. I've just never delved into trip-hop outside of Portishead, and I've always avoided The Alan Parsons Project because I thought it was something that now it doesn't seem to be. I'll definitely give both of those albums a listen when I have some more free time.

I've never heard any of these Alan Parsons songs before, but I'm a big fan of their song "Eye in the Sky", so I'm really looking forward to listening to these songs.
45. Déjà Vu
(Crosby, Still, Nash & Young, 1970)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Crosby_Stills_Nash_amp_Young_-_Deja_Vu_zps2fbdd285.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:

2. Déjà Vu (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1-S6md3LNgs)
3. Carry On (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gZI_WQuacvM)
4. Almost Cut My Hair (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1RPovmMwef8)
5. Teach Your Children (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EyU0P6iqyw4)
This is in my top three albums of all-time. So much nostalgia associated with it. This album reminds me of the road trips taken with my family as a kid - we would blast this album. But it's not just another case of nostalgia making an album seem good when it's really not. The album is truly fantastic. Some nostalgic things, as I grow up, reveal themselves as not being so good in truth. But this album continues to blow me away whenever I listen to it.
Also, best cover of a song on this album? Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute's cover of "Teach Your Children". Hands down.

Swan is killing it so far.
44. Guero
(Beck, 2005)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Guero_zps8e3da7d4.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Go It Alone (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PewCPd7U8Bc)
2. Emergency Exit (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BcVFXVg-ogI)
3. Qué Onda Guero (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hcbC4SsXRN0)
4. Farewell Ride (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YnI5zubFBTk)
5. Hell Yes (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9BQliE3h0q0)
Beck is my second favorite musical artist, after Pink Floyd, though the truth is I've listened to him even more than Pink Floyd and maybe he should actually be #1. I more or less know his albums by heart. I also consider him a musical genius, able to change up his style with each album with infinite success. Remember when "Loser" came out, and everyone thought he was going to be a one hit wonder, and then he released Odelay which had a bunch of hits and proved him as a musician here to stay? I don't, but I've read about it.
I wasn't sure which album I should pick, maybe there will be enough room to post some of his other albums, but I chose this because it's one of my favorites of his.
Also had a hard time choosing the top five songs, since they are all good. I made "Go It Alone" the first because it's groovy and features Jack White on bass. How cool is that?
Are you by any chance a fan of Swans, Swan?

09-23-14, 04:16 PM
I'm glad you continued. Very interesting list, so far.
Are you by any chance a fan of Swans, Swan? Hijacking the thread to answer the question even though Theo was asking Swan, not me. I listened to three Swans albums:
The Seer - 2.5/5
Children of God - 3/5
My Father Will Guide Me Up a Rope to the Sky 3.5/5
My Father... seems to be rather ignored and seen as inferior by Swans fans, but I actually liked it the most from what I've heard. I'm planning to listen to the whole discography, chronologically, so maybe I will get to love them. Not a big deal, if I don't. At least, I could say I tried, then.
Also, best cover of a song on this album? Michael Scott and Dwight Schrute's cover of "Teach Your Children". Hands down.
Thought there would be a clip of this on You Tube, but there is not. Bummer, funny stuff.
Are you by any chance a fan of Swans, Swan?
I am, though the only album I have by them is Children of God. I haven't delved into them as much as I want to, but I do really like them.
Everyone should listen to Swans.
50. Dummy
(Portishead, 1994)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Portishead_-_Dummy_zps0cc8afc8.png
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Glory Box (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6ylDDs3mdJE)
2. It Could Be Sweet (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=57C_eWa2bgo)
3. Biscuit (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uiT0fBePR0Q)
4. Sour Times (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=g7gutsi1uT4)
5. Strangers (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B4TxEsRxltg)
I bought this album after getting into Massive Attack and looking for other trip hop artists. This was a name that constantly came up, so I checked them out, bought Dummy, and loved it. Beth Gibbons is a stunning singer.
I dig this one a lot. Are you a fan of Mazzy Star?
That's one I've never heard of, Justin, but I'm listening now and liking it. Thanks for the rec. :)
Mr Minio
09-23-14, 04:38 PM
Mazzy Star is pretty cool. So Tonight That I Might See is better than their debut in my eyes, so I'd recommend listening it first.
43. Homogenic
(Bjork, 1997)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Bjork_-_Homogenic_album_cover_zpsf8bdc17e.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Hunter (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o2jplo3kpNc)
2. Joga (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2BSMcVRgloY)
3. Unravel (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_5Utdr2zAQ8)
4. Immature (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo5qSshPQiE)
5. All Neon Like (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ilSJvY928-Y)
Bjork is my favorite female musician, and anyone who knows me know I love a talented female musician. I love all her albums, but Homogenic was the first one I bought, and the one I've listened to the most, so I consider it my favorite of her works (though Medúlla is easily her most interesting).
I will talk more about this album in my next post.
Ohhh, yeah, that one's good.
Mr Minio

Never ever listened to any Bjork album. I heard some singles on YT and moderately liked them.
42. Richard D. James Album
(Aphex Twin, 1996)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/RichardDJamesAlbum_zps67efbf4b.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Goon Gumpas (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ziI--G1cQGM)
2. Beetles (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1NAlCvG4EmM)
3. Fingerbib (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1kO6poDbsv0)
4. Milkman (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MqTKOq8DmWU)
5. 4 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AABndHb5eNI)
Another man I consider a musical genius, and this is his magnum opus in my opinion (though he's still going and, as Syro proves, he still has it and may top this one). It's also his most accessible.
I said I would talk more about Homogenic in this post. In a way, that album and Richard D. James Album are companion pieces to me. Not that they share anything musically, but I bought both on my birthday in 2012, right as I started losing my mind. These two albums were constantly playing as I drove around in my car aimlessly, my mind starting to become delusional and hallucinatory. Later that year, I had a full mental breakdown and was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Because of that, these are two incredibly personal works for me, not just great works of art (which they are). In fact, sometimes it's hard for me to listen to these albums without it bringing back some negative and strange memories of my breakdown. However, I thank these albums for being there when I was alone and going crazy. I don't think I would have made it through without Bjork and Aphex Twin.

I gotta make my own list, but I wouldn't restrict myself to decades or positions. Just a list of albums I love. I will do it once I'd listened more Tuvan Throat Singing records. :)
From now on I'll be repping (almost sounds like raping) every album post in this thread, Swan. When you're finished I'll try to listen to as many albums presented here as possible.
Thanks, Minio. Looking forward to your list. :)

44. Guero
(Beck, 2005)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Guero_zps8e3da7d4.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Go It Alone (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PewCPd7U8Bc)
2. Emergency Exit (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BcVFXVg-ogI)
3. Qué Onda Guero (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hcbC4SsXRN0)
4. Farewell Ride (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=YnI5zubFBTk)
5. Hell Yes (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9BQliE3h0q0)
Beck is my second favorite musical artist, after Pink Floyd, though the truth is I've listened to him even more than Pink Floyd and maybe he should actually be #1. I more or less know his albums by heart. I also consider him a musical genius, able to change up his style with each album with infinite success. Remember when "Loser" came out, and everyone thought he was going to be a one hit wonder, and then he released Odelay which had a bunch of hits and proved him as a musician here to stay? I don't, but I've read about it.
I wasn't sure which album I should pick, maybe there will be enough room to post some of his other albums, but I chose this because it's one of my favorites of his.
Also had a hard time choosing the top five songs, since they are all good. I made "Go It Alone" the first because it's groovy and features Jack White on bass. How cool is that?
I've heard the name Beck, but I don't think I've ever heard his music before. I like his voice, but the songs are only okay. The lyrics seem a little bit repetitive.

43. Homogenic
(Bjork, 1997)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Bjork_-_Homogenic_album_cover_zpsf8bdc17e.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Hunter (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=o2jplo3kpNc)
2. Joga (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2BSMcVRgloY)
3. Unravel (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_5Utdr2zAQ8)
4. Immature (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Zo5qSshPQiE)
5. All Neon Like (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ilSJvY928-Y)
Bjork is my favorite female musician, and anyone who knows me know I love a talented female musician. I love all her albums, but Homogenic was the first one I bought, and the one I've listened to the most, so I consider it my favorite of her works (though Medúlla is easily her most interesting).
I will talk more about this album in my next post.
Interesting music. I don't really care for her voice much, but the music is nice, especially as background music while I'm working. I liked the song "Joga" the best, and the video was pretty cool too.
His last album was great, and a bit more mature. Check that one out.

Syro? Yeah man, I am LOVING it.
No, I mean Beck's "Morning Phase". But yeah, "Syro" is really good.
Oh, yeah, I love Morning Phase too. Kind of similar to Sea Change, but I actually like it a bit more.

42. Richard D. James Album
(Aphex Twin, 1996)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/RichardDJamesAlbum_zps67efbf4b.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Goon Gumpas (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ziI--G1cQGM)
2. Beetles (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1NAlCvG4EmM)
3. Fingerbib (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1kO6poDbsv0)
4. Milkman (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MqTKOq8DmWU)
5. 4 (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=AABndHb5eNI)
Another man I consider a musical genius, and this is his magnum opus in my opinion (though he's still going and, as Syro proves, he still has it and may top this one). It's also his most accessible.
I said I would talk more about Homogenic in this post. In a way, that album and Richard D. James Album are companion pieces to me. Not that they share anything musically, but I bought both on my birthday in 2012, right as I started losing my mind. These two albums were constantly playing as I drove around in my car aimlessly, my mind starting to become delusional and hallucinatory. Later that year, I had a full mental breakdown and was diagnosed with schizophrenia. Because of that, these are two incredibly personal works for me, not just great works of art (which they are). However, I thank these albums for being there when I was alone and going crazy. I don't think I would have made it through without Bjork and Aphex Twin.
The picture is kind of creepy, but the music is nice. I liked all of these songs except for "Milkman".

I haven't listened to it all the way through yet. I've just listened to a couple songs from it, the talent is there but it's not quite as refined as Section.80 and GKMC. It's worth a listen though.

39. Lux Vivens
(Jocelyn Montgomery, 1998)

TOP FIVE SONGS:

2. Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp3BlFZWJNA)
3. Polymorphia (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Cv6c3bc5Mak)

Penderecki is my favorite composer, Greenwood is right up there too. This is a fantastic collection of their work. Well, I'm ignorant when it comes to Radiohead and I only know OK Computer and it, well, is OK. Even more than OK. It's pretty cool, but far away from the best album ever title many people seem to attach to it. (I'm looking at you, RYM!)
The songs from the album you posted are nice, too. Maybe it's a grower. I remember when I couldn't understand what's so great about Neutral Milk Hotel and after a couple of listens it's become one of my favourite bands.
That guy Hitchcock, he's no relative of the famous filmmaker, now, is he? I'm pretty sure he's not. I kinda like one of the songs you posted here. I'll listen to the rest later, preferably the whole album. :)
A little bit of offtopic, I decided to listen to Swans discography chronologically as I've said before and I'm giving 3/5 to all their albums from Filth to Children of God, but then imagine my shock when I started The Burning World and expected the filthy, abrasive sound they had on their previous releases to get... gentle folky acoustic guitar ballads!!! This is what is so great about Swans: each album is radically different. Honestly, the first three albums are stylistically similar. I listened to White Light From the Mouth of Infinity and am giving it 3.5/5 which is a nice follow up with The Burning World I rated the same. Figures I prefer the majestic, tender white Swans to their black, hellish edition. I'm still to find an album of them to blow me away, but thankfully there's still a couple of albums I didn't give a listen.
My fave Robyn Hitchcock album is the Soft Boys Underwater Moonlight. I love his solo albums and his work with the Minus Five and the Venus Three. 35. Lovetune for Vacuum
(Soap&Skin, 2009)
http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f145/ifiswan/Soapampskin-lovetune-for-vacuum_zpsd6e521ab.jpg
TOP FIVE SONGS:
1. Thanatos (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=GmJqdISO9Bk)
2. Marche Funèbre (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W_5877LOkq0)
3. Turbine Womb (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B75PGFrWvFo)
4. DDMMYYYY (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=fXnQzrTD_rY)
5. Fleischwolf (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=1Yp1ousxNhw)
Another very personal album for me. Many days spent driving around listening to it. This is Soap&Skin's debut album, and I actually think her sophomore album, Narrow, is more mature and skilled on her part. Maybe I'll include that one too, really beautiful work on it. But both bring me back to the times I was listening to them a lot and mean a lot to me.
Choosing the top five is pretty easy for me, it's numbering them that's hard, because each one is different. I put "Fleischwolf" at #5 because it's the most experimental on the entire album and doesn't feature her voice, so I figured most wouldn't like it as much. But really, you can consider the top five unordered.
Anyway, Anja Plaschg had my heart for quite some time. I still wouldn't mind marrying her. :D
I posted the entire album. Did you watch/listen to the second in my link? I really wanted you to see that. :)
You posted the entire album in that post at the top? It's only showing up as one song for me. Was it a playlist?

Love Lovetune for Vacuum! A four star album! Hard Normal Daddy on the other hand was a letdown. I give it 2.5/5!
They are stylistically similar because of the time period (and now they're even sold on the same record). Swans' third album, "Greed", was the first album to feature Jarboe (a big difference in vocal style, obviously)--it's really the turning point for the band in a lot of ways. But yeah, I agree that they sound best when they're more "melodic" than brutal, when there's more of a focus on their lyrical content. Their last three albums have been extensive and almost decisively experimental (moody as hell). Maybe you'll like them, too.

4. Mike Mills (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=P-DnNRlEYuc)
5. Universal Traveler (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=abkIjdT0uTk)
The perfect rainy day album. I devoured this album during the rainy days of my senior year of high school while I was writing my script Paper Tiger. Possibly my favorite memory of that time is driving home from school, the rain pouring down, thinking about my script while listening to this album as well as Piper at the Gates of Dawn by Pink Floyd. I drive around and listen to music in the car a lot, don't I? Anyway, my imagination was at it's peak then.
This album features my second favorite song of all-time, "Run", and the album itself would be in my top ten albums ever. I also think "Venus" is a stunning song, one of my favorite romantic songs.

This is nice music that would be great as background music while working. (Although I'm not sure why the last half of the song "Universal Traveler" was blank. Is the song supposed to be about 7 minutes long or only about 4 minutes long?)
"Universal Traveler" is 4 minutes and 22 seconds long. The person who uploaded it to YouTube must have added the blank space or something.

In the scattered Swan.
Waiting for the Swan.
Waiting for the Swan.
Waiting for the Swan.
Waiting for the Swan.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting for you to
Come along.
Waiting for you to
Hear my song.
Waiting for you to
Come along.
Waiting for you to
Tell me what went wrong.
This is the strangest life

This is interesting music, but it kind of feels like there should be a cartoon on screen while some of it is playing.
You seem to listen to a lot of instrumentals. (There's nothing wrong with this.)
I like instrumentals as background music while I'm working, but when I'm done working, I prefer actual songs where the voice has to be great and the lyrics have to mean something.
