How do you make a link to a specific post? I can only figure out how to link to the beginning of a thread, or to the top of a specific page.

You have to be quick to get the link for a specific post.


When you click on the Now Playing Box it takes you to that post... the address at the top is for that post.


Failing that, go into the person's profile and look for it in their Posts, but that will take hours and hours.


The third way, is go into the sub forum and you can see the post count on the righthand side. Click that and it brings up a count of each person's posts in that thread. Click that and you can go through them all and click on the one you want and the address at the top, should be for that post.

I won't be anywhere ready by then, so no worries.

I guess people need to volunteer to present again, because I only remember that Guns is presenting the new member award and that I am presenting the Mofo we miss most of all award, and I'll also present an award close to the end.

So if you want to present an award or two step on up. Ideally we need around 11 presenters at least so please sign up here. All you have to do is say the award you are presenting, say a little something about it, announce the nominees using some sort of picture to represent them and in the next post announce the winner. You can look through last year's to see how we did it.

I don't have an actual date, but I'm thinking the second week of Jan. sometime. I should be able to make up the ballots pretty quickly so it will just be a matter of waiting for the votes to come in. Unfortunately it will be really early in the morning in Australia but it will be almost impossible to make the time convenient for everyone.

Especially because it's not in the "new mofo" as I expected it to be (if I, at all, was lucky enough to receive a nomination), but as "best reviewer", and I'm glad there's someone out there appreciating and loving what I do as much as I love to write them for you. The Captain Spaulding Campaign for Best New MoFo will be rampant over the next few days. I've already hired a team to dig up dirt on my competitors. I'm prepared to perform sexual favors, accept bribes, make empty promises and whatever else it takes to guarantee my victory.

The Best Username nomination surprises me. I mean, I didn't have much to do with it, did I? This is just the name my mama gave me. Give her the award, not me.

My Ray of Sunshine nomination shocks me the most. I hate the sunshine. I prefer to operate at night with all the other creeps and perverts. I guess I can see shy I received the nomination, though, since I do try to encourage as many members as possible by either giving them +rep for effort or by saying a few kind words in a post or comment. I figure the more you pat people on the back and show that you appreciate their time and effort for writing a review or posting their thoughts on a movie or adding to intelligent discussion or even just for making other users laugh that it will then encourage them to continue doing so, thus ensuring that this remains the best movie forum on the internet.

I'm especially pleased that Sexy and I received a nomination for Best Couple. At first the whole bathing thing was basically an inside joke that got brought up every now and then. It's definitely picked up STEAM over the last few months, though (get it--- steam?). Our relationship is no longer private. It's an intense, passionate, erotic love affair that started with a simple bath in the shoutbox one night and has now blossomed into something much more special. I want there to eventually be a Sexy/Spaulding engagement, a Sexy/Spaulding wedding, a honeymoon, a baby (what do you get when you combine Jake Gyllenhaal's DNA with a bald, sadistic, mass-murdering clown?), followed by the inevitable nasty break up and divorce. When Sexy and I cross paths in a thread, weirdness ensues. Prepare for things to get a whole weirder in the future. Our love will not be denied!

I worried that I wouldn't get a nomination for Best Reviewer since I slacked off so much toward the end of the year. That's definitely the nomination that I'm most humbled to receive, since there are so many great reviewers on this forum (and a few who were definitely snubbed--*couch*seanc*cough*). I've put a lot of time and effort into the reviews I've posted. And I guess even my write-ups in the movie tab and countdowns are sometimes long enough to qualify as reviews, but I try to hold my real reviews to a higher standard instead of just simply padding my review count. However, you'll never see me just post a movie and a rating, since I always take the time to write a few of my thoughts. I know I won't win this award, nor do I deserve to. JayDee is in a different class than the rest of us, but I'm going to make an effort to steal his crown next year by reviewing much more frequently.

You could and you can this year. From high school prom to president you are allowed to vote for yourself.

Nominations are different. You are not allowed to nominate yourself. There are a couple of reasons for this. It stops people from being cute and nominating themselves and only themselves. It stops people from getting on the ballot in places they don't belong. I can nominate myself for best reviewer all day long but I wouldn't deserve it. I don't review.

If other people put you on a ballot, then it is fine to vote for yourself if you think you are most deserving. It's just one vote. Others still have to vote for you.

This is how most nomination processes and voting work. I think it fits best here as well, so it will be the same next year.
